Union Sushi + Barbeque Bar - Chicago - Photo album

I’ve been meaning to review this restaurant but keep forgetting. Here goes. We absolutely look forward to dining here every time we visit Chicago. This is our go-to place. The various specialty rolls and sashimi dishes are great. Top it off with delicious BBQ skewers and some great sake and we’ve go
They had solid veggie options and offered the ability to easily swap out the seafood for sweet potato, mushrooms, etc. the truffle roll was amazing and the fish was super fresh. Great sushi spot!
Didn't come here expecting much but had a great meal - wonderful service and food. We tried a salad, grilled lamb and eggplant, sushi roll, and fish collar. A few interesting Japanese beers for variety. Just moved to this part of town a few months ago and this is one of the better finds in the ar
It’s a creative place with a variety of interesting dishes. Their cocktails are some of the best I’ve had in the USA. Their grill tastes like a real charcoal grill which is an extremely rare and pleasant surprise for me. But. The food is worse than I would want from a place with these prices. Short
Fun lively scene here. I usually have the most fun sitting at the sushi bar. Robata grill gets wayyy too hot!
If I could give this place 6+ stars I would. It was a beautiful representation of a nice modern look and gave the restaurant a warm home like vibe. When we first walked in they immediately took us up within a minute of getting there. They were so welcoming and after sitting down for a few minutes be
I love this place! Such a fun vibe and amazing food. I like that they play music here but it's not super loud. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious. It is presented as well. We tried the Tuna Tataki, Miso Soup, Shishito Peppers, Madai Chili, Hotate Volcano , and Mentaiko Scallops. Each dish
The black sushi rice is fantastic. Fish is always fresh. Nice that they also have hot BBQ/grill items to try. They have great Japanese Whisky options and the lychee martini is perfect. Try out the fresh wasabi. It's s more crumbly and dry. Much better than the green paste.
First time dining here and we were impressed with the experience. Food: 5/5 They have both seafood and meats from the grille, we did the salmon app which was excellent. Followed by lamb shank (get this!), short rib kabob which was good but only a few bites of food. Lastly we had one sushi roll, whi
Amazing food. Went for dinner today with my husband. Every item we ordered was delicious. We got the zucchini & shrimp skewers for appetizer and did not make a picture as we ate right away 😄 And I got Salmon Lover sushi rolls it was their special today and my hub got a Hotate Volcano ( it was so del
Amazing and fresh quality fish! The flavors were exceptional and service was top notch! Such a unique menu they offer as well, if only my stomach was big enough for more!
The staff is truly amazing! Food was really good reasonably priced and it definitely was a social environment. I highly recommend you check them out.
Fantastic place!! The food was exceptional, we had tuna tataki (do not miss it!), seaweed salad, dragon roll, spicy mango roll and the hotate volcano. All of which were excellent. We sat at the counter across from the chefs making the sushi rolls and watching them is so mesmerizing, they are meticul
Had a dinner reservation in February during All Star Weekend. It’s a great atmosphere. Our waiter, Javier was great! He was very pleasant and he knew the menu very well! Everything he recommended was on point! The portions are perfect and delicious! We took advantage of some of the specials, I had
This restaurant was a must-try in Chicago. The restaurant is beautiful with sit-down dinner tables as well as bar seats available. The food was delicious. As far as specialty rolls, the red dragon and mango maguro were amongst the best sushi rolls I have ever had. For dessert, we had the matcha sh
These folks treat me better than I deserve. Addictive sushi and crazy good service. Sushi Mike, who is also the executive chef at Tanoshii in Andersonville, recently became the head chef for Union Sushi as well, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the menu. I recommend sitting at the
Sushi was absolutely delicious! Service was amazing! Loved Annie we will definitely come again. We ordered the pacific coast, spicy tuna, crunchy rice with tuna, and dragon roll
We visited Union Sushi on NYE! We were sure to have reservations, obviously. They were running a little behind, which we didn’t mind, so we had a few drinks at the upstairs bar while we waited. Once we got to the table, we were told we would receive some free appetizers. Little did we know we would
