If you’ve have ever wished you could be invited to a 5 star chefs home to eat food that is both inspired visually and gustatorily, treat yourself to an evening at Goosefoot. From the moment you are welcomed into the cozy space by the effervescent and inviting hostess Nina, you get the feeling that you’ve been invited to a private dinner party by people that you’ve known for ever. Nina runs the front of the restaurant plating each of the twelve courses with care and painstaking precision. Chris appears often to describe his inspiration for each dish, often crediting his wife as the source. He is effusive with praise for her talents. The food is fun and perfectly prepared. The textures, colors, temperatures and flavors are varied. The colors on the plate are kaleidoscopic, owing to the edible flowers the couple lovingly grows in their backyard. Nina proclaims that her Husband is known for his soups, after tasting the perfectly hot tomato soup I can understand why. Each course is well defined and a delight onto itself. The deserts are playful, light and delicious. This is not a meal to be rushed through but one to be savored, if you are an impatient eater be prepared, this meal takes four hours. If you are patient you will be rewarded with an unforgettable meal, the feeling that you have made new lifelong friends and a go to place every time you visit Chicago.

We have dined at comparable restaurants in Chicago, and Goosefoot is my favorite. My food last night was literally the best meal I have ever eaten. Seriously. Chris and Nina have a unique way to make you feel like you are eating in their home. It’s BYOB and Nina made three wine recommendations that they sell at their store. Each bottle averaged $20. She did not try to gouge us with an overpriced wine. The dinner is expensive but not as bad as other fine dining options in Chicago. With 13 courses, it was the best value we have experienced.

I’m a bit disappointed that some of the recent reviewers didn’t post any pictures, so that the rest of the world can get an idea of how the food looks. It doesn’t matter if you write a super wordy post. No pictures can lead to readers losing interest. I’ll attach some pictures so that people can get an idea of the tasting. I came here awhile ago for my birthday. It wasn’t full so the evening was kind of quiet. We just used an Uber to get here. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. Service was amazing. You definitely feel at home, getting ready for a multicourse home-cooked meal. Food was magnificent. Easily in my top 5 favorite Michelin restaurants. Each course seemed to get better and better. It’s hard to choose a favorite as I loved each dish. It’s $175 without taxes and tip for the tasting. That’s without a wine pairing. Yes, that’s per person. Highly recommended. I hope my pictures give you some sort of idea of what to expect.

Such a great place to enjoy some whimsical, unique, and DELICIOUS dishes. The presentation shows so much character, and I really appreciated that the waitress broke down every dish as well as how to consume it. That helps for sure when something should be handheld or not! There were also several small dishes for the pre-fixe so we left absolutely stuffed! You truly get your money's worth and then some. Nina made sure to get the details of our celebration prior to our visit to wish us a happy 10th anniversary as we walked in. She was also a delight to talk to and truly created something special with Goosefoot!

Absolutely exceptional meal, wine pairing, and service. Their Michelin star and AAA-4 Diamond ratings are well deserved. We had always wanted to try Goosefoot and am glad we did celebrating our anniversary with them. The tasting menu was beyond delicious… Foie gras tart, truffle foam summer soup, perfectly cooked duck and diver scallops. And the service from Natalia and Nina was 5-stars. I very highly recommend you try them!!

Our dinner at Goosefoot was really lovely! Every dish was a hit and we thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic flavors! Beside the great food, I loved how the restaurant operates as a BYOB with the option to purchase wine directly from them. We opted to purchase wine in advance and it was perfectly chilled and waiting for us once we arrived at the restaurant. Nina made it so easy for us to just sit back and enjoy our meal with our wine! I especially appreciated that the restaurant is still following COVID protocols. Personally, I really loved that there was a divider between each table; it's great for heath purposes but also offers a level of privacy that is really nice as well. Overall, this is a great spot to dine at in Chicago and I highly recommend!

Thank you Chris & Nina for a lovely dinner experience! Each course was excellent, well-paced, and exquisitely presented ... a perfect blend of art & cuisine at its best. Leisurely dining that allows you to savor each course and prepare for the next. We were seated at 8pm and didn't finish until after 11pm ... as expected for a 9+ course meal. Highly recommend purchasing wine pairings from their market/wine shop. They will wrap up any unfinished bottles to take home with you. Intimate dining experience with a personal touch. Nina shared stories from her trip to our home state of Virginia and we look forward to returning to Goosefoot the next time we're in Chicago. Loved the Woodstock '69 theme and history discussion. Much love to this power couple and their vision for fine dining!

Every single dish tasted so amazing. Nina was so nice and so was our other waitress! The pine bud custard is one of my favorite desserts I’ve ever had! I highly recommend coming here you will not be let down! All of the plating is beautiful as well.

The food here was absolutely amazing. Not only was it stunning & aesthetically pleasing, but the flavors paired wonderfully together & the overall taste of each dish was exquisite. The owner came by to chat with us & our server described each dish with enthusiasm & detail. It was about twelve courses with around 4-5 of them being dessert (score). I think they are currently renovating & the space is small & intimate, only around nine tables. Enter through the back for the time being!

Lovely experience, great food and entertainment. However, we were not aware that the whole experience will take more then 3 hours. There is a course of many different interesting meals. The portions are tiny and you have to wait 20-30 minutes between every course, which is very long if you are hungry 😁 This is a family owned restaurant and they only have one chef, one server, one hostess for The Whole restaurant. The place is very small and you can hear server explaining every course and idea behind it for every table over and over again. At First it doesn’t bother you, but after 5th round it becomes kind of annoying haha

Truly a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Every dish was delicious. Service was impeccable. The fact that this is a solo-chef kitchen is incredible. I was full by the end of course 3 but pushed through to course 5 before I had to stop. The owners were so accommodating in packaging up the remaining courses for me. Our favorite courses were the starter soup, steak, and custard. Loved that it was a low-key atmosphere and not pretentious, so it was a comfortable first try of Michelin-star fare. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
