Came for the Chicago Blues Challenge with friends, fun time! Our waitress was great, the food is delivered fast and hot, and the drinks are good too. I hadn’t been here since attending a special trip with my elementary school, so this was a great experience returning as an adult. Excellent space and Chicago legendary experience!
What an incredible experience at Buddy Guy's Legends! I recently hosted a business reception at this iconic blues haven, and it exceeded all expectations.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric with soulful tunes filling the air. The staff was not only professional but also incredibly accommodating, ensuring every detail of our event was seamless. They went above and beyond to create the perfect ambiance.
The venue itself exudes character and charm, with its intimate setting and walls adorned with blues memorabilia. It's a testament to the rich history of Buddy Guy and the blues scene, making it an ideal backdrop for any memorable event.
I want to express my gratitude to the entire team at Buddy Guy's Legends for making our business reception a night to remember. If you're looking for a unique venue with soulful vibes, impeccable service, and a taste of Chicago's legendary blues, Buddy Guy's Legends is the place to be. Can't wait for the next opportunity to host an event at this gem!
If you like the blues you should come here. If you LOVE the blues it's essential that you come. The memorabilia is great, cigar box guitars, Buddy's Grammys and pictures of him receiving a medal from President Obama. Then there are the gifted guitars from rock and blues stars on the walls over the 2 bars. The prices are very reasonable and some good merchandise to acquire. Buddy might just show up also! But even if he doesn't he gets great other artists and then at the end of the main set he has people who wanna play come up. It's got a good atmosphere! Come to Buddy's and get the blues!!
I checked out Buddy guy's on a random Wednesday during my last trip to Chicago. Incredible atmosphere, great staff and service. Most notably was the quality of music! The musicians were incredibly inventive and put on a great show. Then someone mentioned that Buddy was in the house and he came up on stage, took a shot of cognac and sang a song!!! Buddy Guy is a living legend. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GO HERE IMMEDIATELY!!!
I took my son and his roommate for dinner. First time at Buddy Guy’s. Music was enjoyable from Matt Hendricks on Thursday’s. He plays the dinner slot prior to the bands that play after 8pm.
Jambalaya was fantastic! Cornbread is a great addition to any meal. Really cool memorabilia from some amazing musicians and Chicago greats! Thanks for an awesome experience.
What an experience. The food was spot on. I had Shrimp Gumbo with Cornbread, a salad, Catfish Po' Boy and Key Lime Pie. The Gumbo was outstanding - better than what I had in Lafayette, Louisiana. The memorabilia is out of this world. Photos, awards and guitars from the very best musicians who ever played the blues. You could spend an hour just looking at photos. The place is immaculately clean. The night I was there, Chicago Blues HOF'er Carlos Showers was playing prior to the main show which consisted of Brother John and other musicians. To be honest, I was more into Carlos playing by himself. It was very raw and very good. Can't say enough good things about the bartenders and servers. This is a fun night out.
This is the place to go for Blues. The gumbo & cornbread were good - the cornbread had such a buttery taste. The staff was willing to substitute tequila for the vodka in a drink.
Three musical groups took the stage. There was some difficulties but everyone just kept the show going.
Went to Buddy Guy for a FREE event on a Sunday to see a singer named Tracy Eileen. The establishment is pretty big and have two bars on separate ends of the restaurant.
We had the gumbo which was very delicious and a couple of drinks. My gin & tonic was $12 and my friends drink, a lemonade was $17. Because it was Sunday, we didn’t stay for the second set but it was nice overall.
Really nice club. The opening act was great, Ivan Singh was incredible, and our group got lucky with a surprise performance by the legendary Buddy Guy. Unforgettable night in an amazing blues club.
A must for those who like blues, or simply good music. Good food and drinks with fair prices. I recommend seeing who will play at the night and buy tickets in advance.
Arrive a little bit early to get a great spot. No need for too early tough.
