Celebrating our 2nd anniversary, went for early dinner before our GAI concert. Place wasn’t very busy for a 5:30pm on Sunday which was nice since we got to pick where wanted to sit. Food was good but do recommend asking for more bread when ordering the carrot hummus as an app. 2 slices cut in half is not enough bread for the amount. There were no complaints by staff when asking for more but still not sure why so little bread for the portion size. We would go back if we are in the area.

A nice restaurant located inside the Thompson Chicago. We had breakfast here, and it was pleasant. The space is pretty spacious. They do have a bar that wraps around to near the lobby of the hotel. My steak and eggs were cooked perfectly.

Beautiful venue with delicious drinks. The service was wonderful and we had a great time at the bar while waiting on our table. The food was good but nothing too special in my opinion. I’d give it another go but the fish meal I purchased seemed a bit overpriced for what I actually received

So happy we stumbled on Nico’s the food and service here was great! Jason was very attentive to our table and did well explaining everything they had to offer. The Nico old fashion tasted great! We had the Brussels sprouts and the carrot hummus which both had great flavors. For dinner I had the chicken which was very juice, and refreshing. I’d love to go back and try more things on the menu!

The food was excellent. Everyone really enjoyed all the dishes shared. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My only problem with the restaurant was the 20% service charge automatically added. When you buy a bottle of wine at $50 or $300, the service required to serve the wine is exactly the same... Tips on wine bottles should not be based on bottle pricing but on a fix amount per bottle. Especially when the wine is already marked up 3 times.

Came here 2x for breakfast as part of my stay. First day I had the farmers omelet. It was OK. Didn’t seem like cheese inside it was cooked long enough. Potatoes were also kind of bland. Next day I went for the nico scramble. It was better. I would recommend that. I took pancetta out. OJ is good, a bit tart though. The tea is also good. I always go with Earl Gray. Plenty of seating. Staff was nice.

The food was very delicious. Everything tasted so good, I have never had anything like their chicken. Everything we got tasted great. Our waiter was amazing, we even got a little history about their menu and how it has evolved over the years. Good waiter+ good food=evening made!!

Roasted asparagus was delicious. Seafood pasta was extremely salty; my mouth is still burning from the strong brine taste🤢

This is a great place for sunny afternoons or late-night people watching at the bar. I’ve always found the pastas and desserts to be delicious. Have not yet tried a full meal, so I’m rating based on what I know. Their wine list is great. Special mentions for the sparkling rosé and the super Tuscan, which are both excellent. Leans a little more on the pricey side (wine $14-19, dessert $11-14) but very much on par with other venues on the Triangle. I’ve never had bad service, either. Would recommend.

Amazing service! My glass never got below half full. The server was very helpful with suggesting a wine to go with our dinner. My fiancée and I tried the scallops, rabbit tortellini, and seared duck. We will be back soon to try more delicious courses here!

We stayed at the Thompson Hotel. Went down for breakfast around 9am on Saturday and was told that there was 20 minutes wait. I pointed out all the empty tables and even tried to sit at the bar but apparently they are very short staffed. It was exactly 20 minutes wait time. We knew exactly what we were going to order because we looked at the menu during the wait so as soon as the server came, we ordered. It was a little over 30 minutes for the food to come out. We ordered Yellow tomato conchiglie, braised short rib, pan seared scallop, angel hair & meatballs and steak & eggs! My favorite was the yellow tomato conchiglie, we added extra shrimp. The braised short rib was good and fatty. Everything else was not bad, just basic.

Creative drink menu, thoughtfully crafted with something for everyone. Every bite of food was perfectly balanced, from a burrata appetizer to the entrees (gyro seasoned salmon and the classiest smash burger ever) to the black forest for dessert, which literally exploded with flavors. And phenomenal service at every stage of our meal. Perfect for a celebration or just a carefree evening with a friend.

Great food! We ordered an appetizer, second course, and dessert. I highly recommend the mushroom ragu and the chocolate/lemon cake dessert. Both were incredible. Overall, the restaurant was not very busy, which made for a bit of a strange atmosphere, but led to great service.

Overall a lovely experience and would definitely go back! My one critique is of the chef’s choice to put some type of horseradish topping onto the oysters, within the shells. They were otherwise exactly how they should be, served in a tray of fresh ice and cleaned very well, no sand or grit whatsoever. But the horseradish completely overpowered the delicious oysters underneath and was added to all of them instead of on the side, so I could choose to eat them straight up, which definitely would have been my preference. I was saved by the fact that we got two appetizers, and that my boyfriend and MIL were kind enough to share their entrees with me. My boyfriend got some pasta, I think some kind of bolognese, which was both hearty and light, the mark of fresh pasta made from scratch. My MIL had scallops that were buttery, silky, and tender. Service was great! Our server was patient and knowledgeable, and the cocktails were excellent. Atmosphere was very nice, we sat outside and had a lovely time. Would definitely go back, although I would probably try a different entree next time.

Nico Osteria encompass three floors, each with their own unique look and feel. Bold interior design, rich décor accents and innovative menus come together to create a luxurious private dining experience inside of The Thompson Hotel. As a guest of the hotel you can enjoy room service and whether you are looking for a business meeting or simply having a bite, you can enjoy their delicious plates while overlooking the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood in an intimate and inviting environment. It is a must not only for the location for the amazingly tastful and delightful plates but for the service and environment. I had such a great time at Nico.
