Review Fahlstrom's Fresh Fish Market - Chicago

I wanted to treat myself after a tough work week. This restaurant's delicious food came to mind. I ate the jumbo sea scallops. So so good. My waitress was friendly. Another staff member also asked if I had any questions or needed anything. Their service was on point. Nice bar design and decor. You can't go wrong if you choose to visit Pescadero.

We had amazing brunch here! I am very picky with fries and hollandaise sauce, but this place was awesome. Fries are freshly cooked, soft; sauce had great flavour, it was fresh, didn’t taste like lemon juice or vinegar. The French toast was delish, something new Prices are great for the level of service and food freshness

We had a great time at dinner on a Wednesday night with a party of four people. Love the updated and fancier atmosphere while still maintaining a fish market! From the drinks, Wilmette Beach Negroni and Sunset Trawler, to the apps, Lobster Sliders, Oysters, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, to the mains, Seared Ahi Tuna, Alaskan Halibut, Creole Seafood Gumbo to the side of Brussels Chips, and even desserts, Pumpkin Cheesecake and Brownie with Ice Cream, everything was well prepared and delicious. Our server was very helpful in choosing the oysters and also suggesting the Brussels Chips for the table. All the seafood was fresh and well prepared. The gumbo was rich with at least four different seafoods. Look forward to our next trip to try other menu items as well.

Went for brunch. I love how they've updated the space since taking over from Fahlstrom's. Incredible food. Got free mimosas with our entrees. Great smokey, grilled flavor on the fish tacos. Bloody Mary was huge and came with shrimp. Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to come to this place and finally i made it!! Happy to report the staff was very attentive and quick.the food was fresh and well presented.i ordered: Ceviche,good portion! Clam chowder.delicious! Oysters.fresh and delicious Drinks;mezcal Enjoy a drink or two in this cool atmosphere.while the delicate smell of the wood entices your senses. Great place for a date

I walk by this place everyday and we finally had an excuse to go in and check it out and I'm so glad we did. The Mezcal Marg and the other Mezcal drink on their menu were unreal, the salt on them is so good, we each had three. Then we ordered two of each of their oysters, followed by some of the best cooked calamari we've ever had! Seriously... Order that! Lastly we did the fish tacos, the sauce was so good and the fish was light and airy. Last was the octopus which was so good, the dressing on top added a good extra kick! All in all we will be going back a lot since they are so close.

Loved everything. Very nice server and hostess. Some of the most flavorful seafood i have ever eaten! We basically got the appetizer menu and enjoyed it all. Best key lime pie I have ever eaten! Will return..alone lol

Great seafood in a casual atmosphere. Our party had oysters, lobster sliders, shrimp cocktail, Tuna, Alaskan halibut, and gumbo. Everything was delicious. Thanks, Antonio for a great time!

Awesome addition to Lakeview!! The fish is fresh and amazing. Grand staff and the kitchen team is rockin! Try out the fish market! Its is super cool! Full of the best cuts! Lots of other spices, rubs, sauces and marinades.

We had the lobster roll and the lobster omelette. Both of them are delicious!! Highly recommended for the weekend brunch.

This place is definitely a must try, the ambiance, the extra friendly and attentive staff, the amazing food, this was a great experience and worth every penny, I will be frequenting this place a lot

Omg this place is awesome. I had the crabster sandwich and it was to die for. Had the side salad with the warm bacon dressing. Yum! And had a bloody Mary appetizer! I will always eat here when I come to town. Bartender was awesome and knowledgeable. All employees were friendly.

This is the most wonderful place on earth....the staff is charming and from the front desk to the bussing people they are all wonderful. The Fish is always fresh and delicious. They fry nothing. Everything is sauteed, broiled, steamed or grilled. This is a gem. I would like to discourage everyone from going there so that I always have a table when I go but I am not that selfish....

This would be my 4th time going here. Every time I visit, the food and service has been nothing short of Excellent. My compilments to the Chef, servers (Chris who was our server this time) the staff, management and the owners. High quality food, friendly staff and overall good times.

Ahhhhhhhhmazing! $1 oysters at the bar and all you can eat crab legs on Tuesday!! Hell yeah! It was fresh seafood for a Tuesday. The crab legs were cracked as well, apparently they weren’t doing that before. The service was really great too. From the hostess to our server, very attentive. There’s also $3 parking across the street with validation.

Delicious fish and seafood. Excellent service and a great atmosphere. The owner is gets everything fresh every day recommend.

I can't wait to go back! The food and service were absolutely wonderful. Everything we ordered was delicious and the preparation perfect. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. And .... one of the best chocolate mousse desserts I have ever had. This was our third visit and each has been outstanding.

Two of us ordered the catfish . No flavor at all. We noticed the person at a table near us also ordered it and left theirs on their plate .

The fish was really fresh and prepared lightly with tons of flavor. The service was outstanding.

Wonderful outdoor seating to enjoy the Bloody Mary that is a meal in itself. An amazing array of fish pate served with all the right extras. The ahi tuna is great and my husband loved the walleye. We can’t wsit to go back.

This was my second visit at Fahlstroms. The first time was a very good experience but the second time NOT so. We ordered steam mussels, oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. The calamari and mussels looked and tasted like left overs from the day before. The mussels in particular tasted bad and I regret I didn’t send them back. But I was hosting a dinner with friends and didn’t want to make a scene. Two of us ordered catfish that was tasteless. I woke up at 2AM still noxious from the food that I couldn’t digest and had problems sleeping. The service was good although at the end we felt on our own without anyone even asking for deserts.

We were visiting our daughter and son in law and they took us there for dinner. Food and service excellent. Had the Crabster...crab roll. It was excellent. Also made a good brandy old fashion...getting a good one outside Wisconsin seldom happens. Our server went above and beyond to make our meal perfect.

Was at the shrimp and oyster fest! We had a great time with oysters and Titos vodka! Great Food and wonderful service. Awesome place cant wait to go back

In town for Sunday afternoon play at Theatre Wit and found this SUPERB fresh fish restaurant about 30 yards west on same street. Incredible menu (breakfast all day if that’s your thing), indoor/outdoor seating, generous servings, intelligent servers, scrumptious desserts. Street parking free on Sunday. Great neighborhood ambience.

You should be able to find something to please you on this menu! Even fish pate - several types! Make a reservation..   Having Wide variety of fish!

I'm reviewing the sandwich end of Fahlstrom's as opposed to the sit down dining area. However, my brother has had a sit down meal here along with picking up some fish and he thoroughly enjoyed both. <br/><br/>They're known for the crabster, which you should probably just look up, but I'm not a fan of shellfish so that's not my thing. The fish tacos though, are super good and they make them incredibly fast to boot because of their special oven. My only beef is that you used to get three tacos for nine dollars and now I believe they're around eleven bucks for only two (their website at the time of this posting doesn't display their current prices).<br/><br/>My pictures are of the shrimp tacos (they have straight up fish ones now!), and the crab cake sandwich. Six minutes wait for 4 delicious sandwiches...you do you people that sit down here for some reason.

Baconfest Chicago Baconfest Chicago finished its seventh year with a sold out weekend. Over 4,500 people and 170 of Chicago's top chefs joined together at UIC Forum for three sessions of delectable bacon-inspired cocktails, craft beer and unlimited bacon treats.  Baconfest Chicago also presented $75,000 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. It was my first year attending the pork fest and it will certainly not be my last! The restaurant was opened by Glenn Fahlstrom of Glenn's Diner , and there are a few similarities including the cereal wall, and the wide assortment of fresh fish available. We tried an Australian Baramundi lightly blackened with garlic herb butter. Australian Baramundi The seafood bisque was delish! I loved how it was served in a coffee mug. Soup in mugs > coffee in mugs. Seafood Bisque Fahlstrom's is also home of the "crabster," which is essentially a lobster roll, but with Alaskan king crab. It's topped with slaw and served in a warm, buttered and toasted roll. Yup, it was as good as it sounds! We ate there before a show: a few drinks, appetizer and entrees. Everything was top notch. We had Mussels Carbonara, crab roll and the Mahi-Mahi.

Fantastic!!. Had a wonderful Birthday dinner at Fahlstrom's on opening night! Don't let the "seafood deli" theme fool you... the Dinner menu is simple but delicious. I had the bacon clam chowder and lemon butter swordfish... YUMMM.. The atmosphere is relaxed and playful and the staff was attentive and friendly!<br/>Can't wait to come back for lunch!

...he namesake Glenn left a few years back and disappeared for a while before returning with Falhstrom's Fish Market on Belmont. I stopped in during opening weekend. Restaurant/Fish Market in Lakeview...One exception was their po' boys which could be ordered with shrimp or catfish. She tried a catfish and liked it pretty well. I agreed in that it was well fried and made for a satisfying sandwich. I tried the meatloaf sandwich and was less thrilled with my order. It was basically a burger...Maybe I'll get back to Fahlstrom's for a sitdown dinner sometime in the future but I'm more likely to be a regular at the seafood counter. Located on the other side of the dining room, they're selling fresh fish to-go from here. They promised that their prices would be cheaper than Mariano's and other seafood markets in town and so far they are living up to the promise. I've been in a few times to buy fresh product and was happy with what I got.
