Great food, and the excellent service enhanced our dining experience. Tried the Chef's Seasonal Sashimi Selection, Chutoro Nigiri and Kohitsuji - I would 100% come back and try other menu items!

One of my favorite places to eat sushi in Chicago ! While all of the dressed nigiri I’ve tried are all phenomenal, my favorite dish would have to be the fried octopus. Simply the best octopus I’ve ever had in my life. My server, Nui, was incredibly helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations. Her warmth and kindness greatly enhanced my dining experience ! All of the desserts are also amazing, the chocolate toffee dessert is my favorite

This was my daughters restaurant choice, I’m not a big fan of sushi and Japanese cuisine.. but the dishes that I had.. were really great and reminded me of other dishes that I might’ve had in other restaurants.. the interior design and lighting fixtures were really modern and contemporary, the bathrooms were really clean and the music was upbeat and non distracting.. my server although a really nice guy was spread a little too thin.. I’m starting to think this a city wide restaurant issue.. it seems every restaurant I’ve been to lately, they don’t have enough waiters and a a result the one waiter is super busy handling a lot more tables than they should.. the lighting was so dimly lit i felt like I was wearing sunglasses the entire time.. other than that.. definitely a place I want to comeback to.. but with my luck the dishes I fell in love with they’ll probably not be on the menu..

Only been here twice and I think I need to come back more often. Everything about this place is impeccable. Great for groups to get a bunch of things and share. I can’t remember the names of dishes we ordered, but you cannot go wrong with the Izakaya options (the lamb is a must) and the sushi (could pass on the rolls, but the sashimi or sushi bites are delicious).

Definitely will need reservations if you would like a spot.
The cocktail choices were great. I would say my favourite dish was actually the appetizer, the octopus and the buns.
I was actually disappointed by the sushi. The sushi rice wasn’t what I expected for the price they charge.
All in all, this restaurant has a great vibe and atmosphere for chatting along with decent food.

Wow. What an amazing experience. The food was absolutely spot on and Delicious. Not a single “just ok”dish. And Calvin our server, was amazing. Offering not only great dishes but how to best enjoy them. The atmosphere was modern and great. Overall just an amazing night out!!

Love it!! Very good Japanese restaurant. Fusion with western style. About 40-50 USD per person.
Service is amazing as well!

It’s so nice to find actual good sushi these days. Most restaurants typically have menus filled with tempura, cream cheese and crab stick. Momotaro is the complete opposite. Their fish was high quality and executed more towards the traditional Japanese standard. Really glad I stopped by here while in the neighborhood.

A chic twist to the traditional izakaya experience, promising a decent spread of both authentic Japanese and fusion dishes.
Recently took a vist with my friends for a late dinner. We started off with some sushi rolls: momomaki and the negi toro. Both were excellent, with the latter impressing us with its interesting pairing of spicy octopus and tuna. A detour into their yakitori menu produced mixed results. While the Duck breast and Gyutan were solid and charred just right, the skirt steak was slightly overcooked and mediocre.
The fusion dishes, however, took the spotlight. Flavored with a concoction of black garlic oil, scallion oroshi, spicy beef curry, and yuzu kosho, the spaghetti was a harmonious play of spicy, savory, and tangy notes. The Jidori Kimo – a rich chicken liver pate paired with toast and jam – also delivered an umami punch, making for satisfying bites.
However, our meal hit a slight snag when it came time to settle the bill. We were taken aback by extra charges for items we hadn't requested. An additional toast for the pate and an extra serving of skirt steak yakitori made appearances, without our prior consent. It appeared as if they aimed to provide adequate portions for our party of three, yet a heads-up during ordering would have been appreciated.

Momotaro is incredible. I went with a few friends in late January and the food was to die for. We had everything from the steak, to the octopus roll, and so much more. I think the pictures speak for themselves but definitely recommend.
