We ate there on Friday evening. Was very busy. The food was excellent, frog leg appetizer, crab cake app., lake perch, and wedge salad. All was fantastic. We had an excellent waiter, Rene Alonzo. He made great recommendations on our dinner and took very good care of us. Ask for him if you go.

My sister and I waited a bit for a table, but it was absolutely worth it! Keith, the bartender, was amazing and so very accommodating. The shrimp and oysters were fresh and delicious. Thanks for a lovely evening!!!

Awesome!!! Love this local gem! Kayla rocks! She Is the best server,host. She practically reads your mind and anticipates what you need before you even know you need something. This is the best quality for a server to have in my opinion. My wife and I own nightclubs and have a real appreciation for an exceptional server and Kayla is exceptional.

Went for a weekly date night, ordered the snapper and it was over cooked / dry. The GM Mark was incredibly kind and insisted on replacing it with something else (ended up with the seabass which was excellent)
Really appreciate the great service despite willing to just eat what I ordered.
Our server was efficient & friendly. Drinks were delivered quickly (espresso martinis are amazing) only downside is how packed the restaurant is but it’s a hot spot.

The outdoor seat is a little cramp where we were seated, otherwise everything was great. We had the seafood tower, frog legs, and a NY strip. Steak came in too over, and waitress actually initiated and checked if we wanted to return. Seafood tower was fresh, but the star was really the frog leg, great flavour and texture.
The carrot cake is also something, try it if you dare.

Frog legs were absolutely phenomenal, nice garlicky flavor and very tender. Escargot and garlic butter with toasted crustini bread was perfectly matched. Halibut was a good size and light and flaky with a nice buttery flavor. Peas and mushrooms that came with it were fantastic. Dining partners seared tuna pouvre was perfectly seared with a nice peppery bite to it. Carrot cake dessert must of weighed several pounds for a single slice. Love this place and will return when coming back to Chicago.

Visited Hugo's twice during our visit to Chicago because we liked the experience so much. Food was amazing and the afternoon happy hour is a must.

I wanted to love the food here but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Half the mussels didn't open, the halibut was very dry- the rest of our food was delicious though and they didn't change us for the two dishes that clearly weren't up to their standards.The frog legs were so good and fun!Service was great

Impeccable service. Great food. Lovely atmosphere. The calamari tasted very fresh. The Mac and cheese side was delicious. I had the Walleye entree with a cup of chowder soup. Everything here was delicious.
