My boyfriend and I just celebrated our 2 year anniversary at Boka last night and it was such a special place to do so. They really went above and beyond with making our anniversary feel special by giving us customized menus that said "Happy 2nd anniversary". The service was exceptional the moment we walked in. Everyone was very welcoming and attentive, especially Jake who was taking care of us for the evening. Big kudos to him and his service. We ended up doing their 8 course tasting menu, which changes constantly. We were delighted with every meal we tried. The flavors were warm and definitely catered to the fall/winter vibes. Such interesting combinations of ingredients and flavors. It was truly an amazing experience!! I'd recommend sitting at the restaurant or high tops. The bar area is for someone that's coming in for a quick bite, and something more casual. If you're looking for a delicious tasting menu, I definitely recommend Boka! It was $175 per person (without any alcohol), which I think is pretty reasonable.

Kevin, our main server, was great. Very knowledgeable and professional while still entertaining. Food was wonderful as well. We did the tasting menu and wine pairing. Would definitely order off the regular menu in the future just based on cost, but tasting menu definitely worth doing once. Would go again for a special occasion.

Amazing food! We shared the Peking duck. I would highly recommend. It was one of the best ducks I've had- crispy skin and cooked to perfection. The other plates we tried were incredible as well. The service was decent. We did get bad seats right by the exterior wall, and it was freezing cold. I'd try avoiding those if you can.

Boka in Chicago truly stands out as a culinary jewel, providing an extraordinary dining experience that splendidly blends remarkable food, impeccable service, and a delightful atmosphere. My visit there was highlighted by some exceptional dishes that left a lasting impression. The oysters were a particular highlight, fresh and brimming with the sea's essence, served with accompaniments that enhanced their natural flavors without overpowering them. This dish set a high standard for what was to follow. Following the oysters, the Arctic char was a masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, its delicate flavor and flaky texture were complemented by a beautifully crafted sauce that accentuated the fish's freshness. It was a dish that showcased the chef's skill in handling seafood with respect and creativity. In addition to these standout dishes, the other appetizers were equally impressive. Each appetizer was a blend of unique flavors and textures, demonstrating the kitchen's ability to transform simple ingredients into culinary delights. The service throughout the meal was exceptional – attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. This, combined with the restaurant's inviting and elegant ambiance, made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Overall, Boka provided a memorable evening with its flawless combination of exquisite cuisine, first-class service, and a warm atmosphere. The oysters and Arctic char, along with the other appetizers, were noteworthy highlights of a meal that was, without a doubt, a perfect 10/10. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience in Chicago.

I love Boka. From the moment I stepped inside and saw the sophisticated looking design, and then the above par service to match with it, I knew I was going to get some good food. We actually requested to do a 6 course meal which they were able to do. It was just the right amount of food. Portions were not tiny, they were very fair and we left full. For the courses I didn’t find any that were overly salty or bland, they were all just right. Each course was mouth watering and palatable.

Had a very pleasant dinner here. Staff was very friendly from the moment we stepped inside until we left. Our server was very knowledgeable and offered insight into each and every dish that was brought out, even our cocktails. For a dinner for 2 we had a couple oysters to start, 2 cold dishes, 1 hot dish, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert. Quite a bit of food, a bit pricey, but it was delicious and we were stuffed. The halibut was my favorite dish of the night. Buttery smooth and perfectly flaky. Probably the best halibut I've ever had. The hokkaido scallops were a close second. Delicious flavors in the sauce. I was excited for the duck but it was not as good as I hoped. Maybe because I had already eaten too much. But really...the halibut and scallops...Overall a wonderful experience. Not sure if I'd be back given the price but I could be convinced...

I don’t even know where to begin about boasting about this lovely restaurant. I had a negative experience at other restaurant and I had originally intended to go to Boka, but they looked closed from the outside (hence why I went to the other restaurant with a negative experience. So glad I walked out and came back to Boka). Upon entering, the valet gentleman was super charming and escorted me inside where a few lovely hostesses were waiting. They asked the usual “do you have a reservation” after warmly welcoming me and taking my coat and belongings. I said I did not but they proceeded to say “no problem” and offered me wonderful seating accommodations at their bar. (The bar was on a different level. The seats were wide and plush, plenty of spacing, it was like sitting in a lounge at the bar). As I was lead to the bar, the two bar women greeted me and that’s where the real magic begun. The two ladies are real experts of their field. I had left it up to them to create drinks for me and to recommend pairings for the 8 course meal I ordered. The drinks only added to the food experience and complimented each course. Bravo to the chef and kitchen staff as well, right down to the runners who presented the food and passionately described it. I will always be returning to this place when I visit Chicago and will be recommending every chance I get!

Every dish was utterly delicious. The tasting menu both was approachable, but also had unexpected flavor combinations. There were foods that I normally don’t like, but here I wouldn’t have changed a thing because it was so good. I was completely full at the end as well! If you want to be surprised by the tasting menu, don’t look at all the photos haha

Boka has a very narrow and small entrance but the inside is very nice, the indoor setting is a bit dark, the natural light sitting outside is so refreshing and relaxing. I love the moss wall there, it is very beautiful. The service is great, but the food comes very slow, if you are hungry or in a rush, don't pick this place. This place is great for you to sit back to enjoy the service and food. The presentation of the food looks simple but attractive. The house bread and butter is so good. Scallops, fish, chicken, ribs are all delicious to the point. The beets are amazing.
