Fresh Express

This place was a surprise. It's unassuming. It's out of the way. It's quaint, but there's usually a bit of traffic at lunch, but it hasn't been packed when I've gone. I stopped by on a whim after seeing a sign advertising cubanos outside - it's hard to get a good cubano in the region, so I figured I'd give it a shot. i was not disappointed. One of the tastiest cubanos I've had in the area. Better than one I had in the Florida keys, even, which is as close, geographically, as I've really gotten to authentic. Big sandwich, tasty bread, generous with the meat, and pretty fairly priced. My wife said their coffee was very good as well, although I didn't have it myself. I can't speak for their other sandwiches, or their smoothies, since I haven't had them, but I'd be surprised if they weren't great, just judging by the cubano. I'm excited to try more here. Update: Tried Boricua and Roast Beef - both were incredible. Also a cheesecake smoothie. It blew my mind. This place is a winner.

I'm incredibly impressed! Already looking forward to next time! We got the Cuban and Italian beef, it cam with salad and chips. The sandwiches were AMAZING! great meat and sauces, just so great! The oreo with espresso smoothie is fantastic! The woman was super nice and the place is clean. They had quite a lot of options, seriously a must try!

In college I worked in a smoothie shop for three years, but for a long time I couldn't find a decent smoothie in Northwest Indiana. That is, until I tried Fresh Express. I was floored by the quality of their smoothies, and their food is excellent. The staff are thoughtful and courteous. Their Cuban sandwich was the best I've ever had. Take a few moments to chill here, you won't regret it.

Although the host was friendly and the interior of the restaurant was nice, there were a few things that were not so great. First is the fruit in the smoothie I ordered was not really ripe. Second, the service took a while, even for just a smoothie. Third was the chicken in my sandwich was pretty dry. So overall, not terrible, but some room for improvement.
