One of the ways I rate the authenticity of an ethnic restaurant is by the ethnicity of the clientele. This Vietnamese restaurant was full of Asians. I was the only white guy in the entire place. That tells me it's probably fairly authentic. I had a bowl of duck soup with egg noodles. It was quite good. The one thing I had to contend with is that the duck had been chopped without regard to cartilage. I know that for certain people that's not a big deal and even desired. For me it's crunchy and doesn't add flavor. That being said, everything else about the meal was delicious. The broth was rich, The duck was tender and the noodles were just a little chewy as they should be. I would recommend this placed to anyone wanting a good bowl of pho.

I believe it’s the only pho place that serves duck noodle soup, and I love it. They also have shrimp tempura and udon soup for a Vietnamese restaurant.? I have not tried it though. The place really needs a renovation, and the server needs to be friendly or at least nice to the customers; a smile or two will do. 😁 meat combo with vermicelli was good, but the meats doesn’t taste like they’re grilled like everywhere else. The curry is good but not hearty enough for the cost. The chicken noodle soup was good also. I guess the duck vermicelli soup is why I go back to this place. Again, smile a little, and it would be a better experience for me.

Amazingly delicious, delivered super fast, and very obviously slow cooked to perfection and deeply flavored bone broth. My six year old gobbled up the fresh spring rolls and most of my beef pho. She loves getting to "play with her food" by adding herbs, bean sprouts, lime juice, and drops of hoisin sauce. My unsweetened iced tea had a delicate Jasmine flavor. Everything was amazing and this is definitely outr new pho spot!

What a nice restaurant. The pho broth was authentic; not a lot of MSG like other restaurants. The Pho Tai Bo Vien was just as good as my wife's Pho and she is Vietnamese. The egg rolls and spring rolls are excellent. They are friendly if you compliment the food. Good conversation go both ways. They clean as soon as customers leave.

I had been coming to this place for almost 10 yrs. Service always sucked, they all act like they hate their jobs but they need to understand it is the HOSPITALITY industry. I always put up w/ the grumpy faces bc their soups is good, but today I was charged $34.50 for one single bowl of soup. The bill said $17.5 + tip 17.5… something along the lines. The older guy (might be the owner) voided it and then charged me what is supposed to be one bowl of pho $17.50 guys. I never ever ever in the last 10 yrs paid that amount here for one bowl of soup, the menu clearly says $11.99. It is official that I’m going back to Pho 79 in battlefield, they have todo stuff as well and their service is more on point. If you are willing to get charged different prices every time like it is your first time, this is your place. I posted on fb about it and my friends have come across the same issue w variance in prices as if they just make them up as they go.

Pho was mediocore and the spring rolls were not wrapped tightly. You take a bite of it and everything falls out bc there is too much air in it. It would have been nice if the lady was nicer and a bit more friendly.

I got the veggie pho and egg rolls. Both really good. The veggie pho had lots of broccoli! Best veggie pho I've eaten. And a super plus is the bean sprouts were really fresh

My husband and I have tried a LOT of pho places here in Hampton Roads, and this is hands down my favorite place to eat vietnamese food (specifically pho). The service is always excellent, and staff is attentive to clients needs. You have GOT to order the spring rolls, they are super fresh, and the peanut dipping sauce is wonderful!
I like getting the chicken pho. Adding in the lime juice and bean sprouts really makes it taste fresh and delicious.
