Captain D's

Loved the statues at the fountain, lions, horses, elephants and turtles. Such a surprise to find the fully functional carousel. Asked the attendant if they had any printed material concerning the history of the carousel. To my delight it was not a trifold brochure, but a beautifully illustrated book with pictures of all of the animals and benches, and information about the carvers and painters. Loved the walk across the pedestrian bridge, and the river walk. The paddle boat on the river was so nostalgic, and we got to go inside to look around. So much history here. Don't pass this area by, it's great on a beautiful day like the one we had.

Worst experience ever! I love Captain D's and eat here often. They were out of a lot foods and sauces. The new manager, Lawrence was not accomodating and unwilling to help me with a coupon issue. He would not even apply a manager credit to my order. I told him I would call corporate, he said to me, "Ok that's fine my name is Lawrence...the line is backed up. Did you want the food or not? ". He treated me like a bother instead of a customer he needed to please. I took the food and got home only to discover my baked fish was partially raw and my tartar sauce that I had to beg for was all over my boxes. I am completely shocked by this experience! I have been eating here for almost 20 years and this was my first job!I can truly say, there was never this kind of service under the direction of former manager, Terry. I hope that Captain D's gets back to normal.

Went for dinner. Fish was cooked in old grease and it was cooked too long. Chicken was so hard and the food was just not good. We went back the lady cooked the chicken over but the fish was just dropped back into the grease and served. If the grease not clean they should not be able to serve people at all.

Went in last minute and ordered a family platter. Food was made fairly quickly for being the last order of the day. The folks running the shop seemed tired but were chill and respectful. They gave me the food. The food was standard ok fast food, as expected. Is it cuisine? No. Is it delicious deep fried brain food 10 at night? My sleep starved brain says yes. Thanks Cap'n.
