Newk's Eatery

The layout of Newk's Eatery lends itself well to the to-go and the dine-in patron. One can enter through a separate door and select from the pre-made sandwiches and salads or go through another area to order for dine-in. Today I had the half shrimp po-boy and the 5 cheese mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is fantastic. Creamy goodness topped with melted cheddar. A half order with a half sandwich is perfect. The sandwich was on 11 grain bread, which I normally don't care for, but this had a nutty flavor that paired well with the shrimp. The shrimp packed a punch with flavor. It was served with onion, tomato and pickle. I will say that it was a bit dry and perhaps a sauce or mayo would enhance what is a great sandwich. My husband had the chicken tortilla soup, which was make-your-nose-run spicy and filled with chicken and crispy tortilla strips. He paired it with the cheesesteak sandwich. He gave the meat an average rating due to the amount of fat, but said it had good flavor otherwise. I'd like to go back to try the pimento cheese and bacon mac and cheese along with one of their homemade desserts.

My first time ordering from Newk's tonight and if I could give them 100 stars I would. I chose the "Build your own pizza" which arrived hot with fresh toppings and they were not stingy. The flavor was outstanding! I also got a fruit cup which was more like a fruit bowl. All the fruit was chilled and super fresh. Juicy pineapple, crisp red grapes and ripe melon. Yummy!! I could only take a couple bites of the strawberry cake because it was very rich and I was very full but that's just how it's supposed to be. I'm telling my whole office about this place and you will see us for lunch. 😊

I was there today at around 3:30 pm. I have always had great experiences at Newks except for today. I came for having my drink refilled (bought the drink previously) and ordered a pizza. The lady whom I order from was extremely rude and inform me that I can only refill when I am physically present in the restaurant. In my past experiences, I was able to get my drink re-filled just fine. Not only this, the lady who was at the front saw me with the empty drink automatically went ahead and rang me up for the drink without asking me. Not only that, she didn’t even bother to give me a new cup. I hope this experience only happen to me but not other customers.

Newk's Eatery was a pleasant experience with one fault. The atmosphere was quiet and nice. The food we ordered was a Newk's "Q" sandwich, which contained chicken, bacon, Ammerländer Swiss & white BBQ sauce, and the Pimiento Cheese sandwich, which contained tomatoes with yellow & white cheddar. Both dishes came with their Five Cheese Mac & Cheese as a side. For dessert, I had their Red Velvet cake. All of them were delicious, and I would come back for more. The only fault I had was one of the employees having a bit of an attitude problem when I simply asked for an extra utensil. I wasn't sure if she was having a bad day, but it just seemed puzzling to get upset over a simple request. A bit off-putting to me as a first-timer there, but everything else was pretty great. I enjoyed Newk's and would come back next time.

A Hidden gem! Absolute MUST haves: Newk's Club with a side of 5 Cheese Mac N Cheese & the Mediterranean Pizza - and the strawberry cake is astonishing! Basically everything we ordered was GREAT! Definitely coming back. Every cake was very good- strawberry, lemon, chocolate and the red velvet. Anika and Chandler are fantastic- stop by and say hi!

We ate here today & We will be back A LOT! This place was super busy at the time we was in there but the service was good the food got to us fast & correct & for the food size received the prices are fair as well! if your in a rush check out my pictures of the grab n go section they have of soups n salads & cake to die for!
