I generally love this place.... but last night my husband and I were really grossed out to find this green thing (no idea what it was) in my husband's almost finished shake he got. I ate mine on the way home in the dark so I really hope I didn't have that in mine....super gross!

Worse experience ever, not only was my order incorrect, but it was cold and horrible. The lady at the window, rude as hell. Felt like i was gonna be attacked when I tried to go back to get my order fixed. Definitely will be returning for a refund tomorrow. They have like 20 people standing at the window, no mask.

Depending on the time of day - between 2 and 4 PM and 7 and 9 PM the drive thru is quick and efficient. The workers have a well organized method of getting you in and out relatively hassle free. The weekend nights - particularly Friday and Saturday late night - just hang it up - it's utter chaos and the drive thru is backed up into the street.
The food is decent - dairy queen decent - the prices are decent as well. I am not a fan of the milkshakes - just call it ice cream because there is no way you're getting that shake through a straw. Incredibly thick to the point why even call it a milkshake.
They do have a pick up window for online orders to lessen the wait at the drive thru during peak times. You cannot order at the window- pick up only.

It is exactly what you would expect of late night college town food. Incredibly cheap (with quality to match) but definitely a good way to get fat and salt when you're craving it. Also the shakes are great

Eh, it’s cookout. I’ve never gone here for quality food. You get what you get, and it’s good and it’s usually quick. Do I usually feel a bit sick afterwards? Sure. Am I eventually going to have to stop buying their food by age 35? Also probably sure. But for now it’s my once-a-month guilty pleasure and it’s well worth it.
However, for this location, as a word of warning, I would highly recommend avoiding it late on weekend nights during the school year. It’s extremely busy - the drive thru line is very lengthy and often spills out onto Emmett. This is not Cookout’s fault, it’s just a feature of them being within so close to UVA’s campus.

The food is decent and the prices are reasonable. (That's about all anyone should expect from fast food, right?) I've got nothing but good things to say for the staff that are working hard and doing a great job!
But, you've got to get that drive thru speaker volume under control. I'm pretty sure I was close to permenant hearing loss after my last visit. People can't understand you because the sound quality is awful not because the volume is a few decibels below jet engine. It just keeps getting progressively louder. I've decided this must be some sort of social experiment. Stop it before someone's head explodes! I could order easily with my window rolled up except you couldn't hear my responses.
I'll still probably come back in a month or two when my ears stop ringing.

People there are super rude. Lobby was closed. The cashier hated his job. No refills. Very disappointing. I would give them zero stars if it were an option.
