This review is overdue. I'd been driving past, wanting to try this place for a while. I used Uber Eats for dinner on Wednesday, 12-21-22. I ordered the fish tibsi (whiting fish), beef sambusa, and cheesecake. They also gave me plenty of injera. The tibsi came with two vegetables. The sambusa were full of meat. I had plenty of food leftover for the next day. It was a good dinner after a long work day. The next time I have the taste for Ethiopian food, I'd definitely order again or visit.

It was a great place to eat! We did one of the sharing dishes and it was a tremendous amount of food to eat for 2 people we were both stuffed. Our server was attentive, Kind ans the food was piping hot and super delicious! Definitely worth a try!

This would be a five star review if the food did not take so long to arrive. First, I would like to say that I understand that everything is cooked to order, but at some point it feels like it’s too long. It’s hard to tell when that time is, but I think diners instinctively know when food is taking too long (we start looking around and checking our watches). We were enjoying a nice bottle of Tej, but we were almost to the bottom of the bottle. So from the time we entered the restaurant to the time we received our food was about an hour. And that is a bit too long. Now, for all of the positives! The food was delicious! Really fabulous. We are huge fans of Ethiopian cuisine, and, in fact, we used to have an Ethiopian restaurant in our neighborhood in Boston that we walked to at least once a week. A lot of our old favorites were here, and the food was spiced perfectly. So very good. The Injera was also very good. We’ve been to a couple places where the Injera doesn’t seem traditional, and this was excellent, and definitely traditional. One ordering mistake that I made: I have never seen shrimp on an Ethiopian menu, and I ordered it, and it was a little bit dry, but that’s my fault for ordering shrimp. I don’t think it’s a very traditional dish to have on the menu. I should have stuck with the things that I know and love! The veggies were amazing. The spicy foods were perfectly spicy without being too spicy. The meats were excellent and tender. Everything was really wonderful. And I love the fact that they have Tej by the bottle. Our server was also nice and, again, the whole experience was excellent and would be five stars if it were not for the unusually long wait between the time we ordered and the time the food arrived. I know that cooking food to order takes time, but this just exceeded the threshold of what we thought was a normal amount of time to be waiting for dinner. We will definitely go back. It could be that they were just shortstaffed in the kitchen that day.

The service was great, nice people. I think it was the owner who went around the store greeting the guests. My only complaint is that the rice was soggy to me which when you add the stew to it, it makes me more wet. Plus, I wanted it spicy and didn't get it spicy. Next time I'll ask to have the stew separated from the rice. The sambusas was delicious though

First time trying Ethiopian food ever and it was super yum and fun;) It's finger food..like literally ...no utensils, you use your hand to hand all your food. I loved it and my friend did too! Will def come back ! I came to support the local business after reading an article about the owner a few weeks ago from MoRA...sometimes it's not all about the food, sometimes it's the story behind the food

Impeccable, cooked to order, fresh food. I have nothing but great things to say about the food and the service. I ordered fish tibsi, in which was delicious. The dishes are made to order, so please ensure that you have time in your schedule to wait for the food to be prepared. I can not wait to go back!

Like all Ethiopian restaurants you can expect to wait 35-60 minutes for your food. However, you will be completely satisfied once it arrives. This spot was playing Ethiopian music videos on YouTube - something I've never experienced at these restaurants so that was a nice treat! Later in our meal they began a nightly coffee and popcorn ceremony where someone roast coffee beans in a small pot over a fire and pops popcorn in the other side. The dining room fills with the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee and we are eager to try it. They come to each table and bring every one a small cup of coffee and a tub of popcorn to share. We ordered sambusas for appetizers and lamb, chicken and veggie platters as entrees. All were superb. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful people and restaurant. The food was so good I'm about to eat the rest for snacks and breakfast. 😋😋😋 Plus, they had no issues with Marley, my service dog, being in the restaurant. That was a huge plus! MarMar really liked the server we had, too.

One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte! The food is made fresh and perfectly spiced every time. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Their lentil sambusas are a must!
