Very reasonably priced chinese food. We had the General Chicken. It was delicious. I also got a glass of red wine for $8. Always good service here and friendly people. Will go again.
Great Wall of China South here in Carmel Commons! This is one of the oldest Chinese Restaurants in Charlotte. I’ve heard their name over and over around my community. I was excited to try for the first time and duck and vegetables are amazing! Excellent service💯‼️

I moved to Charlotte a year ago and truthfully I haven’t tried much Chinese food because a lot of people told me it’s nothing near as good as New York’s Chinatown. I finally find found something that came pretty close. Really enjoyed Great Wall of China South in Charlotte, North Carolina. The service was really spectacular and the food was fantastic. The hot and sour soup was a little bland but I had the fantasy shrimp which is the same dish I had in New York called Grand Marnier shrimp. I also had cold sesame noodles and the noodles had amazing texture and the sauce was a perfect consistency. My friend had the trio with garlic sauce and that tasted really good as well. Will definitely go back.
Very caring and friendly staff. I’ve ordered from here a few times and I was never disappointed. Reasonable prices for portion size. Highly recommend trying especially if you live close by. Good parking too.
Always good service and food. My goto is the crispy scallops. The sauce is oh so good and the scallops so juicy. The string beans is a wonderful side dish along with the crispy tofu. Overall every choice is a good one.
I have been searching for good Chinese food at a reasonable price and have been wanting to try this place for a long time. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings, sesame chicken, and kung Pao chicken. The dumplings were tasty and had a good amount of filling. The sauce of the Kung Pao chicken was basic and salty of soy sauce but not "flavorful" if that makes sense. The sesame chicken was slightly crispy and not drowning in sauce (a good thing). The flavor was good but it was slightly too sweet for my taste. The service was excellent! I may come back to try other dishes.

Tasty, spicy, and pleasant - lemme tell you all about Great Wall’s attempt at authentic Chinese food. With a modern, cozy, typical Chinese-esque atmosphere, this restaurant has it down pat to providing the complete package. We ordered Hong Kong Style Shrimp Ho Fun, Twice Cooked Pork, and Mapo Tofu. The Ho Fun was flavorful and light with a little too much oil, but nonetheless was good. The Twice Cooked Pork, fatty and decadent, was complemented with crisp onions and bell peppers - this dish was pretty good overall. The Mapo Tofu was soft with uplifting aromas of ground pork and scattered spices. All of the food similarly served the same taste buds of mine, fulfilling my spicy craving. Spicy goodness 🤩
In addition, our server was wonderful, engaging, and attentive making extra strides to continually fill our water and asked us if we need assistance. The food here is excellent and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend the Shrimp Ho Fun, House Special Fried Rice, and Seafood Delight - some items I’ve eaten before. This is one of the best restaurants in all of the Charlotte area. A friend introduced me 5 years ago and I can’t stop coming back. The service and staff are only outshined by the incredible food. Thank you so much for all of your amazing work!!

This place has been around for 35 years! I grew up nearby and would ride my bike by this restaurant all the time. At some point we started getting food from Great Wall and it has always been delicious!

I went to Great Wall for dinner. I ordered my usual chicken with shrimp, fried tofu, and broccoli. The meals are big enough to share or have leftovers for the next day! This is my go to spot for good Chinese food.
This restaurant has survived the test of time and 35 years later they are still around so that says something about them. A lot of their customers are people who have been coming to eat there for a long time! I always recommend this place and hope you enjoy your meal!
