I ate there yesterday. I had Pad Thai. It was pretty good or average. My wife had calamari as she can't eat rice or pasta. It was not good. It was like thin rubber bands with a coating. I noticed other meals that looked great and I wish I had ordered one of them. There were lots of Asians there and all their meals looked nice. The place seemed clean and the service was average. I will go back as I believe it is a really good place for most orders.

My absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Charlotte. My husband & I have tried many places and we both agree that Doan's has the best flavors and quality of food. A few of my co-workers recommended it to us and now we have become regulars. Their pho and vermicelli dishes are delicious and their beef stew noodle dish is to die for. Very clean tasting with no extra additives or MSG. The place is a hidden gem. We highly recommend!
Bright, fresh and delicious food. Service was prompt and attentive, unlike the reviews from a couple years ago. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Charlotte.
Excellent find!. I was in Charlotte on business and was looking for something a little different for dinner than your chain offerings that are so predominant in any metro area of the country. I have been a fan of Vietnamese Pho for many years so when I found Doan's on Yelp with a 97% rating and it was within two miles of my hotel it was a "no brainer" to give it a try. Decor is simple and clean and the staff was very attentive from the initial greeting to the final checkout.
Menu is extensive with Vietnamese cuisine featured but other Southeast Asian dishes also available. I started with an appetizer of Garlic Scallops which there are 12 to an order, so it was delivered in four small bowls with broth. The scallops were tender and the broth was a hint of light garlic and pepper. Great start to my dinner. I came for Pho and I was not disappointed; the beef brisket, beef tips and beef ball was tender and tasty. The broth could have been a little hotter but the flavor was excellent. The rice noodle were melt in your mouth tender.
I am very happy I chose Doan's and I will return on my next trip to Charlotte!
Great food, the tofu was cooked prefect, the veggies were very fresh. Nice and clean. Customer service great! And the Thai ice tea was the best yet!
I love Vietnamese food! The house bun is usually my 'go to' item. The only reason I tried this place out was because Vietnam Grill down the street was closed for the holiday. Although it gave me my fix, I probably won't be back..until Vietnam grill is closed again that is!
I took a friend here who knows a few things about good food. She owned a French restaurant in Silicon Valley, is a slammin' cook on her own right, and very picky. And oh, she's Vietnamese. She left impressed. Need I say more.
Food is great. The Pho, Pad Thai, and the spring roll is amazing. We came here twice and service is great.
Very nice, clean restaurant with a full menu of Vietnamese and Asian dishes. The bun dac biet and pho dishes are really good and very authentic. Summer rolls were fresh and packed with pork and shrimp.
They have hot chrysanthemum tea with rock sugar which is hard to find in the area. The avocado shake is rich and flavorful too.
All around great find and definitely a top spot for Vietnamese food on south blvd.
I’m Vietnamese & grew up eating a lot of Vietnamese food. I’m thrilled to report that this is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant I’ve found in Charlotte so far!!! You can smell the amazingness the moment you walk through the door. The spring rolls here are superior (Hawkers spring rolls in South End just doesn’t even compare, I threw theirs away it was so terrible). The avocado smoothie tastes exactly how my dad made it for me growing up. Just pure avocado & sugar, non of the extra fluff. I’ve only had the food to go due to my limited timing, but they really take the time to ensure everything is packed well! Very happy customer, “cam on”!
After 14 years, I finally found a vietnamese restaurant that serve broken rice. Overall, the food was great. The spring roll (summer roll) in here was great. The egg roll is also delicious. During this visit, I order sliced pork rice plate. Everything is good but the pork is just okay. My friend order pork chop rice plate with tofu skin wrapped shrimp and both are delicious. Recommend to eat here and absolutely will come back here for vietnamese food. The restaurant has variety of food.
The food was delcious. I had the crispy noodle stiry fry with chicken, very unique and tasty. I eat Vietnamese a lot and this place has great food, service, and atmosphere.
Quite nice. Good flavor, good portion, but missing the long lead vegetable for pho.
Broken rice and pork is also tasty.
Atmosphere is very good, ordered pho and fried tofu and both are great, a great place to go when you are in the mood for some Pho.
Stopped here to get some Vietnamese food after returning from Iceland via New York. Pho (dac biet) was very good, portion was large, price very reasonable. Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef udon) was good, wish the had pigs feet or blood cubes. The fried tofu & summer rolls (goi cuon) were just ok, wish they add some fresh herbs in the rolls. Place was busy. Service was quick, but I did have to flag down our server. Iced milk coffee was great, strong & sweet. 4.5 is a fair score for this place. Very extensive menu, would like to return & try other items - 2.5 hrs drive for us from Augusta, GA.
Very good food. All ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful and I will definitely be coming back.
Such good food. I got the crispy stir fry noodles with chicken which the server recommended to me, the texture was not what I expected at all, but in the best possible way. Noodles had a good chew and crunch, the sauce was thick and yummy especially with the pepper you can add yourself on the table. Thai Iced tea was delicious too. Very full and very happy.
I came here for a Yelp International Supper Club event so we got a family style meal.
Our meal consisted of spring rolls, summer rolls, a yellow pancake, chicken curry, and a vermicelli bowl.
My favorite thing was the yellow pancake! The flavor and texture was great. Everything was really good, I feel like you can't go wrong. Vermicelli bowls are always one of my favorites.
The service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and they were fast and always refilling drinks.
I definitely think this spot is worth checking out for some good Vietnamese food.
Doan's has been my go to for Vietnamese since day one. It is a family owned business with delicious food. When the mom is there which is most of the time, I get her to make an avocado and green bean smoothie. My favorites are vermicelli with pork and egg roll V2, grilled beef fresh rolls, yellow pancake, pho tai and grilled pork chop with broken rice. If you have never been just show them this and order all of it.
