I stopped in for dinner on a business trip. I tried the Cajun chicken pasta and added a wedge salad. The salad was amazing. The pasta was good but was a bit too spicy for me. I kept finding myself searching for the roasted chicken and not finding much. It was good, I just don't know I would order it again. The service was outstanding. I would highly recommend them on the service and salad alone.

We had a 4-4.5/5 stars experience at 131 MAIN restaurant in Charlotte. We visited it on a Sunday for brunch when most other places were busy. They don’t have an extensive food menu, and I can see it working in their favour. They’ve some food items that aren’t on their menu, so you might want to ask about them if you’re visiting. The menu comprises of New American cuisine ranging from Alaskan Halibut to the Blackened Chicken Pasta. We got their cornbread which was absolutely amazing and we highly recommend it. The Blackened Chicken Pasta was well-cooked too, and the broccoli made it even more flavourful. We also got their roasted chicken with the rice pilaf—we weren’t terribly impressed by the roasted chicken and the pilaf. Imagine 131 MAIN to be a fancy dining restaurant with better-than-average tasting dishes. I’m not sure if the higher price tag justifies it, but that’s how they portray themselves. The service was amazing—kind and polite servers who attended to our requests. The coffee was pretty good too. Parking is available outside.

You have to come here!! The BEST dining experience I’ve had in Charlotte! The food was delicious, I love to cook and I’m taking notes. And the staff was so friendly, attentive, and fun to talk to! Shout out to Kioni, I hope I get to dine with her again!! Pictured: jalapeño cheese corn bread starter (add the hot sauce and honey, recommend by Kioni and you won’t regret it), lunch of the day blackened red snapper, quinoa and kale salad with a cheesy/creamy and bread crumb mix, jalapeño crab butter sauce, green tea with jasmine, and vanilla ice cream with cinnamon gram cracker crumb coat on the bottom.

The atmosphere is calm and serene. You can have a great converssation over great drinks and food. The staff are all very polite and welcoming. I have to thank my server Kioni. She went above and beyond to make me feel special as this was my place of choice for my birthday dinner. She made sure we were aware of the house special and provided recommendations based on our wants for food and drink options. The Pearfection Martini was tasty with enough alcohol to satisfy the palate. For an appetizer you have to try the cast iron corn bread.The grilled asparagus was good and the slow roasted chicken with smashed potatoes was juicy and tender. The plate was enough to feed two people. Great staff, food, drinks and atmosphere. We will definitely return.

I went for lunch and it was delicious. The strawberry shortcake was amazing and had a great crumb to it. The fries were also very good, good enough for two rounds of them. The sandwich I orders okay, a nice turkey club. I don’t know if they specifically have a pastry chef but if so the cornbread with hatch chili’s in it was amazing.

131 Main has consistently proven itself to be an outstanding restaurant that never fails to deliver a remarkable dining experience. From the delectable food to the impressive drinks, this place is a true gem. To start, the old-fashioned drinks we ordered were strong and tasty. The trout dish I ordered exceeded all expectations. Cooked to absolute perfection, the trout was tender, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The real showstopper was the crab sauce that accompanied it. The combination of the succulent trout and the rich, creamy crab sauce was a match made in culinary heaven. It was undoubtedly the best trout I have ever had. The key lime pie was the perfect balance of sweet and tart.
