We stopped in for a quick bite on the way to a comedy show. My girlfriend said she wasn’t hungry but dove in once she tried the bowl!
The amba chicken salad is great! It tastes like an Indian curry. The grape leaves and hummus are good too. The chicken shawarma was juicy and full of flavor.
We also got a side of the Greek Yogurt Mac & cheese which is extremely creamy and comforting. Nice spot!!

We ate so fast, no pictures of food. Sorry guys... This is one of my favorite restaurants for date nights! It's also 1.5 miles away from French bakery for dessert! AMELIES. Very healthy and filling food choices at YAFO!
Food is fantastic. Best Brussel Sprouts ever. I have had the steak kabobs a few times and the first time they were amazing. Last two times the cook over cooked the hell out of them. Overall A plus.
As a vegan, it's very hard finding quality food st restaurants. But this spot here, was highly fresh and the vegan options they had were phenomenal. The Brussel sprouts and mixed mushrooms had an amazing taste. I had an avocado bowl, with a side or eggplant which also was delicious.
I think this is the best place to grab a bowl in town, although you can't go wrong anywhere on this menu. The Israeli hot chicken sandwich and pita tacos are also both great if you want something outside a bowl. The crispy eggplant is a sneaky great main ingredient for your bowl. It's also an excellent carry out experience, with the food being as good at home as it is in restaurant. I hope this place expands past the existing 3 restaurants around town.

A friend recommended we try this place for “great Israeli food”. I wasn’t sure what Israeli food was; turns out its chickpeas, chicken shawarma, falafel, tabbouleh, hummus….. The restaurant is in a Chipotle format in which you go trough the line to order and the staff makes it for you. Here you can have a bowl, salad, or pita with your choice of spreads and cold toppings, hot toppings, protein and sauce. It wasn’t really clear on what the options were and unfortunately the employee at the front of the line wasn’t helpful and seemed bothered that we asked questions and didn’t know the menu. Fortunately a repeated customer behind us in line explained things and offered suggestions. My husband and I each got bowls. The food was fresh, and flavorful, and overall pretty healthy. The price was reasonable as well. The portions were good; we didn’t go away hungry. I tried the falafel and it was really tasty; crunchy on the outside and moist but not wet or mushy on the inside and full of flavor. The pita bread was great; its fluffier than other pita bread and was great to get the last bits in the bowl. The location of the restaurant is tucked in the corner of an upscale shopping area and not visible from the street when driving by. Worth looking for and giving it a try.
This place has to be the best vegan option in Charlotte! Fresh, healthy, colorful and a variety of plant based options are available, as well as all the fresh meats everyone else ordered. The staff are helpful with menu suggestions for newbies, like me. The menu signs have the ingredients list so you know exactly what you are eating. I can't wait to return to Charlotte and grab a plate at Yafo. I ordered a salad/quinoa base bowl with two different types of hummus, several veggies, olives, mushrooms and a pan fried eggplant slice on top. It was so yummy! Highly recommend!
Scrumptious food and good portions. They let you customize your food based on your liking. Staffs are very helpful. Try their cauliflower side. Pita bread was fresh and delicious with the garlic sauce...

Overwhelming menu for a first timer ! But once you have that sorted out, you are ready to eat some really good Mediterranean food !
The food is really fresh and tasty! The meat is cooked to perfection! I had their rotisserie pulled lamb and I loved it ! The bowls may not look filling but it is actually quite a good amount of food ! Didn't get a chance to try their sides but they looked delicious as well ! Do give this place a try and you won't be disappointed!
