REALLY good food, salsa is a little wanting but passable. The taco soup and burrito bowl are amazing. Even better than I was expecting and filling enough that I couldn't finish it all.
What was REALLY amazing was that Britt and the bartender helped us jump our car after the battery died while we tried to keep our pups cool.
On vacation from Oklahoma and California. Was hesitant to try this place based on mixed reviews. Glad we went with our instinct. Our waitress couldn't have been friendlier. Food was AMAZING. Loved the twist of flavors on different shrimp tacos. Forget the nay sayers.
My husband and I like this place. Their 1 hour "loco hour" offers great happy hour prices but it is only 1 hour so don't blink or you'll miss it. The food can be hit or miss but overall pretty good.
Exactly What This Area Needs. Office I work at orders lunch from here quite often and it is a fav for ALL when we want a break from the ordinary "burger and sandwich" place. Decided to try it on a weekend. Food and and drinks were excellent. Area needed a place where you could bring anyone from grandma to children to eat without worrying about it getting uncomfortable. Staff was helpful to ALL on a Sunday afternoon when most restaurants are understaffed and are recovering from a busy week end. Def. a nice change from the "ordinary!"
Love it! Don't know why reviews are so bad... Lack of taste buds maybe?
The buffalo shrimp taco was excellent. Not too spicy, but it provided a little kick. The cucumber margarita was awesome! The service was prompt, but not intrusive.
Worn out concept for the Charleston area but better than taco boy, Mex 1, Juanita Greenberg, or taco spot. I think zia is the best for this concept but I like 3 matadors alot. El capitan taco is awesome! And the best value of all the above named restaurants by far. If you like tequila this has the best selection
Always a great time!. I go to 3 Matadors at least once a week and always enjoy myself. The food is fresh and has great portion size. The staff is very friendly and personable. The owners often come by and greet me and my family. I highly recommend you check it out for yourself!
Gotta try this place!! Bad reviews?!? Whatchoo been smoking?! This place rocks! Best tacos around, if you ask me. Great and interesting selections/ingredient combinations, local shrimp, grilled corn to die for, awesome drink menu, nice atmosphere, friendly waitstaff... "Limited" menu, compared to the "Mexican" restaurants like La Carreta or Señor Tequila's... But MUCH fresher, authentic tasting food! Don't listen to the nay-sayers (competitors, perhaps?); go and taste for yourself! YUM!
I am really surprised by the negative reviews on this place. I live down the road and the wife and I love eating here. I will say that the wait is sometimes long and the prices are more in line with what I pay downtown, but man, the food is phenomenal and I think that it's easily worth it. I do not know the owners but have had a chance to say hello on one occasion and they were very friendly and concerned about my experience. This place just opened maybe a couple months ago, so the slow service doesn't surprise me. Just try their tacos and then see what you think, everyone I know that has tried them fell in love.
Definitely worth the drive! Live music, one of the best margaritas I've ever had and damn good food!
I chose the chicken burrito bowl with a side of fried plantains, my wife had street tacos and Mexican corn.
Better come hungry because they give you plenty on the bowl....
The margaritas didn't last long enough to make the photo cut.
Fast service and friendly staff. If you’re going for tacostacos I suggest two instead of three because the portions are pretty big. The chips and salsa are top-notch.
Every time we have been there the food has been amazing. Service is also great. Everyone is very friendly and polite. We drive almost an hour to eat there and it has never disappointed. We miss the pineapple rice and the seasoned black beans that were on the menu before covid. But that being said they have the best tacos around.
Great food and outstanding, attentive service from Kaitlynn (spelling?). The chips and salsa (large portions cheerfully refilled) we're warm - always a welcomed touch. Pics follow; I loved my time here!
Great tacos and blazing fast bartending speeds! On the mango mahi the fish was a bit overcooked but still delicious. Also the free salsa app the salsa was watery and chunky which some may like. The "perfect margarita" was amazing and live music on a Thursday night. Definitely will return!
