Gennaro's Italian Ristorante - Charleston - Photo album

Came for a date night dinner after recommendations from several friends. There is a very “family owned” feel to the restaurant, not exactly great but not bad either depending on your expectations. Our server was friendly and very helpful. The appetizer was a bit underwhelming, they seemed like they
Prices were a little expensive but the food was delicious so I'm not too mad about it. I think if they shaved 2$ off of alot of their entrées then I'd say the pricing for portions would be more acceptable. Aside from that I did leave the restaurant with a full belly. The lighting was low and comfor
Johnny was our server tonight. He was kind and courteous, always refilling our waters and making sure we didn’t need anything else. Fantastic server doing his best! All our food came out at the same time (and it tasted great). Atmosphere was nice and the place is well decorated. Would go back.
The authentic Italian food is absolutely fabulous every visit. The service is exemplary and the owner visits every table at least once. His attention to detail is why I would say you will not dine here once. You will be like us and visit very often.
The food was amazing. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. She gave the specials.with exquisite detail. The food was perfect. Our experience started off very strong and positive. 10 minutes after our salad our server told us our food would be out shortly. We ended up getting our food
One of my all-time favorite restaurants it's where my kids take me to celebrate my birthday mother's Day and we do a lot of their birthdays there now too it's the best!
We had a lovely evening & dinner while visiting Gennaro’s! My group and I were visiting from out of the country and craving Italian food and we were not disappointed. Service was accommodating and polite, portion sizes were generous and overall tasty. Appetizers were delicious, entrees were satisfyi
What a wonderful Italian restaurant!!! All the staff was really pleasant and the food was amazing. Such a warm family atmosphere. I did read some reviews and made a recommendation as it does get busy! Mckalya, the bartender, was wonderful accommodating a special beverage and Tim was on point with hi
Great Italian restaurant......Had the homemade minestrone soup with sausage stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Warm fresh bread with olive oil dip while you wait. My main was Salmon and Shrimp seafood penne in a creamed rosè sauce. Excellent meal. Definitely recommend this restaurant.....and either
We have been here numerous times. The food is always great and the prices are reasonable. We highly recommend that you give this place a try if you have never been here. Tonight was really exceptional and our server Jamie was fantastic.
Every town has its "go-to" Italian restaurant, and I believe Gennaro's is that traditional place for Charleston. The food was abundant and good. The service was solid. The atmosphere was nice, but a bit dated. No complaints here. It was everything we needed for a family dinner.
Our server was absolutely incredible. She was friendly and on top of everything. The new "flashy" places get all the credit but trust me, they CANNOT touch this place. The owner was engaging and spent time speaking to us and you can tell the passion this man has for his craft. His nephews are the ch
Great portion, sizes and drinks. I am very impressed with the children’s meals. I highly recommend their steak, chicken or seafood. I personally would pass on fried veal, service was great. You might wanna make reservations if it’s a weekend.
Amazing food and service! Very friendly staff! Highly recommend the specials featured on the menu. Best Alfredo I’ve ever had. The Creamy Italian salad dressing is so good! The Tiramisu is the best I’ve ever tasted. Definitely one of my favorite places in Charleston.
Maybe it was me but the food wasn't quite as good as the last time. Last time was excellent, this time very good, maybe I'm splitting hairs. Service was excellent and even the owner came out to say hello. I'll def return.
I haven't been to Gennaros in several years. We went Saturday night to celebrate friend's anniversary. The calimari was tender and crisp, salads were fresh. My husband's ribeye was tender and delicious. I had veal Marsala with spaghetti and it was yummy and the veal was like butta. Cannolis for
The chicken marsala is absolutely perfect! The sauce has a magnificent blend of meat flavor and simmered tomatoes, making the best side of spaghetti ever. Last, but not least, you will never find better staff anywhere else in this state! Ashley at the bar and Mr. Gennaro were beyond attentive to us,
Amazing dinner with my wife tonight. We very much enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms, muscles with white wine and garlic sauce, 16oz Ribeye with an amazing gorgonzola sauce on a bed of gnocchi, seafood over linguini fra diavolo sauce and a huge portion of chicken marsala. For dessert an absolutely phenom
