I noticed Persimmon Cafe was highly recommended by the locals and made it a priority to stop here first thing on our way into Charleston.
The staff was friendly but the food was.. meh.
I had the curry chicken salad sandwich, my husband had the turkey sandwich. I wish i had gotten the curry chicken salad as a salad or wrap, my bread was hard as a rock and I couldn’t eat it. The orzo salad was also disappointing.
I really looked forward to raving about this spot but they missed on this one.
My husband’s food was good but his bread was too hard also.
The place is cute.
Sign on the door says hours are now M-F, 11a-4p. No weekends.
Also, restroom left some things to be desired.. like paper towels to dry your hands.

First of all, the location alone is so unique! If you like things out of the ordinary this is the place to go. If you love good food- this is the place to go! I absolutely loved my sandwhich and their vanilla lemonade. I had their nutella custard and it was out of this world! For parents: I'm quite picky about where I take my kids, and they loved it! Kid friendly

Delicious sandwiches. And they're able to accommodate gluten free Celiac needs. The crab sandwich was packed with lump crab meat! So good!

Panera can suck a fart. You want a sandwich and some soup? You better be coming here. Wash those nasty clothes you've been rotating for the last three months while you're at it.

Oh if Persimmon isn't one of the hippest spots for lunch downtown, I don't know what is. :) I'm a huge fan of their pasta salad, adult grilled cheese, different lemonades, their custards, and cookies! (A lot, I know... it's all so good!)

Went here on our honeymoon for lunch it was delicious. I suggest the grilled cheese with granny Smith apples in it! Cute spot, kinda hipster vibe. Highly recommend!!

Went to the kick off for the Moja festival at the church next door to the Persimmon Cafe, and wanted to grab a quick bite afterwards only to find their doors locked at 8:08 when their sign clearly says 9:00. Very disappointing! Check your help.....so my suggestion is don't waste your time because they may or may not be opened during business hours.
