Raw bar selections were great, I tried all available oysters. They were all fresh and delicious. Also ordered the scalloped potatoes and cucumber salad, scalloped potatoes were awesome! The cucumbers were good, but nothing special. I’ve heard they have the best fried chicken, but unfortunately this was not my experience, it was pretty bland in general and without the hot sauce and hot honey on the table, just wasn’t good, It was however hot and fresh, but was nothing to write home about. Go for the oysters and ambiance, worth the trip.

Awesome spot in Charleston with incredible fried chicken, the oysters were equally tasty although was too hungry to take pics. Friendly chill staff and lively atmosphere. It was my second time here and I’m already looking forward to three and four! Kudos

Leon’s was AMAZING! The food and service was so good! It was a perfect chill place to have grilled oysters and some cocktails! Definitely get the grilled oyster! They were delicious! I am so sad I was just visiting Charleston or else I would make this my regular place to go. Can’t wait for my next visit!!

Great atmosphere and service. Fried chicken has a delicious crispy crunch (one of the best I've ever had) but admittedly could have used a bit more seasoning but the hot honey and hot sauce helps. The char-grilled oysters are every bit worth the "famous" monicker. A def Charleston must!

Busy neighborhood spot. I tried the crispy clam wrap. It was fresh and crispy. I also had the grilled oysters this place is known for. The oysters were a bit small but tasted very good. My schrimp sandwich was also good. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly and had a slight spice to it. Overall, it's a nice place just not overwhelming.

First time visit today for a late lunch. It was 2 pm on a Thursday and the place was very busy which is always a good sign. Food was excellent. My wife had the fried clams strips and I had the fried catfish sandwich. Coleslaw side was a great choice. I had the soft-serve vanilla ice cream 🍦 for dessert. Yummy 🍦. Our waiter was awesome. Definitely will be going back.

If you haven’t been here yet- y’all are missing some of the best food in Charleston- seafood is fantastic and they have Bird Island Oysters on the menu- wild grown oysters that taste of the sea and are the best I’ve had in Charleston(see picture), I can’t resist the sand which, fried chicken on a bun with coleslaw and the cucumber salad is the perfect bite as a side. My friend got the scalloped potatoes that were rich and so cheesy! Our server was great and very attentive, it was December and we sat outside on their patio too. Don’t miss this place, bonus you can smell the bbq from Rodney Scott’s down the road.

I think this was my fav meal this visit to Charleston. Everything I ate and drank was so delicious. The wedge salad paired with the fried chicken was a great combo. Awesome hush puppies. Frozen gin and tonic and coconut daiquiri were winners.

First time here. We got seated right away, even though they looked very busy. Great service and yummy food. We did get the grilled chicken and grilled fish. Both were great and tasteful. Loved the cucumber salad.
Only minor negative was that It was just very crowded and loud, so it was hard to hear who I was with. Otherwise, great service and great food.

Upon arrival into Charleston we came here. No reservation but only wait 20 minutes and were able to sit at the patio with big fans.
Old gas station converted into a restaurant, very cool, gave me New Orleans vibes.
Server we had was great, very helpful.
We got the seafood platter, fried oysters, and fried Brussels sprouts.
Drinks were also very good. Great place.

Such a great experience and great food! We sat on the outdoor patio and were greeted right away. I had my dog with me and there was a water bowl by the table for her. Our waitress Casey was the best! I got the garden cooler which so refreshing and delicious. The hush puppies were very good and the honey butter was delectable! I ordered the fried oyster sandwich with the cucumber salad as a side and it did not disappoint! When looking at the sandwich I thought I would not be able to finish it but it was actually such a light and enjoyable sandwich. The roll it was served on was not heavy at all. It was light and fluffy and tasted very good. The friend oysters were absolutely delicious! The comeback sauce that is served on top was a bit spicy for me but that is just because I normally do not eat anything spicy ever. Casey kept checking in to see how everything was and was also knowledgeable on the menu when I asked a question about the sides. She also brought a small pupcup for my dog at the end of the meal which was a greatly appreciated! I highly recommend stopping by Leon's while in Charleston!

I was travelling to Charleston and accidentally stumbled on Leon’s, I walked past and saw it was bumping with locals! Knowing I had to visit before I left I got the opportunity to go alone for a late lunch.
I sat at the bar, got a non alcohol beer that was delicious and tried oysters and a salad. The oysters were so fresh, salad was spicy, sweet, crunchy and delicious! The service was amazing everyone at the bar supported me, and made for a great time. Can not recommend enough!

Gave it a shot after being pretty disappointed with the food everyone kept suggesting in the area. Started with a Bloody Mary which was very good. Moved on to the raw oysters and the grilled oysters they were known for. Pleasantly surprised how tasty it was. Based on that, we had to try the fried chicken… some of the best we have ever had. Chicken was moist and the skin was crunchy. The server Sean was great, hats off to you Sean. He gave us more suggestions that were in the area for dinner and told us where not to go. If you are a tourist or from out of town, save yourself the trip of going anywhere else, this is the spot.

Awesome time at Leon’s. Fried chicken sandwich was delicious and my wife loved the wood grilled oysters. Pimm’s Cup was also great! And great service, as well. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in Charleston.

Great late lunch! First time at Leon’s! Our server Ruth S. suggested we try different kinds of raw oysters. So we tried their house oysters and the half moon oysters. All were great! We also loved the fried chicken (super crispy on outside and moist on inside), hush puppies with honey butter, scalloped potatoes and black eyed pea salad! Loved sitting outside too!
Amanda Moss
Such an awesome spot made from an old garage. The oysters on the half shell were so fresh, cold and delicious. Great cocktails, friendly service. A must try in Charleston! Also, grab the smoked mahi dip!

Stopped her after a local’s recommendation. Loved the vibe, food, and service. I was able to walk in and eat at the bar. If a larger party, you would need a reservation. Delish!

Fun environment, great food. A solid choice when you are in Charleston. Good unsweet tea requires clean equipment and theirs was super. Great clam strips and a tasty strawberry shake

Leon's is a great Charleston staple. Everything we've tried on their menu has been consistently fresh and delicious. I had the Chicken Sandwich which was perfectly fried with slaw and pickles. The Slaw was topped with raisins and pepitas which elevated it into something special. We also had fried oysters that were out of this world, just so good. Loved every bite.
James Voorheis
My guests loved their seafood dishes which were peel and eat shrimp and the fried oyster plate. I thought the fried chicken sandwich was a bit above average, minus the (asian I think) cucumber salad on the side which was a total mismatch.
I’d make the drive there anytime for the fried Brussels Sprouts!!!
Atmosphere was a 11 out of 10 and the waitress couldn’t have been friendlier. The entire staff was, incidentally, very easy on the eyes which indicated to me that the management/ownership placed a high priority on making good impressions!

Simply a great experience. Staff was awesome, polite, attentive, made spot-on recommendations. Which includes fried chicken sandwich. Combination of batter, pickles and slaw make it the best. Hushpuppie so good it should be illegal. Scalloped potatoes. So good, I have no words. Thank you Katie, Cassie, Edison and Lauren for a great experience.

Very surprised with the first visit. The fried chicken was excellent and surprisingly a flavor profile I never had before. The shrimp roll was good too. Our table of 6 devoured their meals. Will visit when I return again into two weeks!
Marcie Rosenstock
The best meal I had in Charleston. The fried chicken is to die for as well as the grilled oysters, scalloped potatoes, wedge salad.

Allison LaRue Dudycha
Frozen G&T’s, amazing chargrilled oysters and easily the best fried chicken I have ever put in my mouth!
Sarah Fountain Worel
I am always impressed with every visit. The food is amazing! The staff is friendly and they make each visit memorable. Have the mahi sandwich and brussel sprouts for the table.

Funky eclectic interior. Excellent food and service! I highly recommend it when you're in the Charleston area.

Probably our favorite dining experience in Charleston ever. Service was great, food was spectacular and the surroundings were perfect!
Thank You!
The Clam Wrap is great beyond words.
Jeremy McKinney
Started out with a dozen char grilled oysters; delicious and only lightly cooked. We all then chowed down on fried shrimp, fish and oysters and shared sides of their brussel sprouts and potatoes. Service was great. Leon’s knocked it out of the park.
Tony O'Rourke
An all around great experience! I highly recommend a stop at Leon's Oyster Shop!
Robby Comer
I sat at the bar, had a few IPA's, the roasted oysters, the shrimp roll and a side. Very well prepared with thoughtful ingredients. Love this place.

Such a great place to have drinks and yummy food! The hush puppies and fried chicken are delish!!
Joe Boisvert
I wish I had ordered something different- the fried chicken was highly hyped but just not that great. Seasoning was good but the chicken was dry and that is just no bueno.
