It’s very rare that I write a review or complain on Google reviews. But I just did not feel welcome at the Northside District.
I was excited to try it out because it had so many high reviews, and wanted to order food for takeout. When I got there I waited at the bar to order. Since the bartender was making drinks for so many people, I thought that I would wait around the cash register to quickly place an order and then let her keep making drinks for others. She looked me off EVERYTIME she swiped somebodies card. She started to serve people who got to the bar AFTER ME, and only asked for my order after the bar had completely cleared out.
Even when getting my food from the server the way she said “have a good night” just seemed like she was ready for me to get out of the area.
The food was really good so an extra star for that but the service was one of the worst I’ve received in chapel hill

This is hands down the go to place for excellent late night food. When there’s nothing else but Dominoes, Time Out and steamed wings you are thanking the food gods that this place exists…because it’s good. It’s a popular spot for drinks and hanging out so yeah, there’s a bit of a wait if it’s busy. But so is Dominoes.

Great spot for late night drinks right till 2am. Cool bartender with chill outside patio area where even birdies hangout. Drinks prices are reasonable ($3 domestics, $5 craft) and food is also available if you don't get there too late.

Each dish was cooked to perfection. Northside Noodles was our favorite selection. Definitely check them out for a great meal! Chef Krock and Sous Chef Stafford have the skills!

The food is quite delicious. If the bartender tells you the scorpion wings are very hot, they're not very hot. Be careful coming on Tuesdays during trivia (7-9pm), tables will be very limited. Did not like that smoking was allowed outdoors and it could even be smelled indoors. Had significant sass from the wait staff which was not appreciated. Keep in mind that you need to order everything through the single bartender there, not the best system in my opinion.

The food was fine. It took forever - almost 50 minutes for four tiny sliders. We had to go somewhere else for the rest of our meal. Pros: cool vibes, great music, pretty cheap. I gave an extra star for the low price.

Great beer selection. Ambience inside is cool, with dim lighting and indie music playing. You order both drinks and food at the bar. I thought the tofu skewers and plantain dish was delicious, I wish the noodle bowl used veggie broth but it won’t stop me from coming back for apps and drinks! The porch outside was a little brighter with more seating for bigger groups.

With such high marks on Google, we stopped in on a Saturday night around 10pm for a late night snack. We ordered the fries (supposedly with garlic and cilantro); hot Chinese mustard chicken wings; and the fried chicken sliders. Fries were limp and lacking cilantro. The fried chicken sandwich was ok -- chicken was overcooked and the bun essentially swallowed up the toppings. The wings were disappointing and questionable. Service was fine and the space has a cool vibe. Perhaps a spot to just get a beer?
