Sakanaya has some of the freshest sushi I've ever eaten. I ordered the Hwe Dup Bop, a seafood and vegetable bowl with rice. The sauce was similar to Korean Bibimbap sauces (made with gochujang) and was spicy. The bowl was delicious, but I never got the miso soup that comes with the meal. I ate at the restaurant about an hour before it closed and they were very nice to tell me the last time to order more food, about 5 minutes to 9.

Today we snuck in for a lunch date. Students are leaving campus for the holiday so it's a good time to drop in since it wasn't slammed. Try something new they have a Tiger roll and omg it was amazing! The yaya roll was also delicious!

Lovely dinner spot. The udon soup is comforting, hot and so flavorful. The sushi is amazing. We split a volcano roll and we're not disappointed. Will definitely come back to try more off the menu. Our server was very nice and made great recommendations.

Sakanaya is a destination for those seeking an elevated sushi experience. The ambiance is one of tasteful sophistication. The staff offer a blend of attentiveness and professionalism that makes every visit memorable. Their service contributes significantly to the overall positive impression. During my recent visit, the owner checked up on us and made sure we were well taken care of. The environment and atmosphere was perfect for our special night out. We were able to be seated and served quickly. The food arrived swiftly as well. But let's talk about the real star—the authenticity of Japanese cuisine at Sakanaya. The fatty tuna and salmon are melt in your mouth delicious. Aside from their nigiri and rolls, they also have a great selection of hot foods. I would recommend the udon. They accommodating of dietary restrictions. As a graduating senior, I will miss this place.

The raw fish is absolutely delicious, fresh and cut in thick slices. You can taste the freshness of the fish and it doesn’t have a strong fishy smell at all! Normally you’ll get big ball of rice under piece of fish. Nigiri supposed to have small rice ball and this place does it right! This place is small so you might need to wait a little bit the service is AMAZING!

Lovely. Wholesome. Fulfilling. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re craving clean, delicious sashimi or nigiri. The takoyaki was so warm and filled with flavor. The eel was fatty and soft - and the squid was (chef’s kiss) perfect. Very pleased with this restaurant.

Everything tastes great and the atmosphere is awesome. Great date spot with delicious Japanese food. The ramen and sushi are delicious!! It does feel a bit pricey for the quantity of food but the quality is great.
