Nice homey feel to the place. Local owner running the place. Everyone seems to know each other so that means lots regulars. Biscuits and gravy had real sausage. Bacon was thin, not to my liking. Food and service was prompt. Place was clean. Single bathrooms. My stomach didn't feel good after eating there though.

First time here and it was great! The tenderloin was hand breaded, a must try if you are in the area. Right next to Fareway.

It's a very friendly atmosphere and the food is exceptionally good. I had French toast one day and steak and eggs with hash browns the other, the steak was tender, my eggs were done perfect and the has brown were great. My french toast was really good. The waitress takes time to know her customers and is super nice. I'd frequent that place over and over again.

Had the steak and eggs. Very tasty and cooked to order. Only down side was steak cooked on a flattop, would much better open flame. Price was very reasonable and nice portion size. Will definately be back

We've been to Rise N' Dine a number of times. The menu is a typical diner menu with breakfast items, burgers and the like, but everything seems fresher and tastier than a typical mom 'n pop type diner. For the price, they have the best hamburgers in town. I appreciate that the menu items are all sold separately, so if all you really want is a sandwich, that's all you get. You don't have to pay for fries or a salad that you're not going to eat.
The wait staff is generally speedy and friendly.
The decor could use some work, I suppose. There's not much to it, except a painting that would have been hip in the 80s, an empty picture frame and a TV that really could go. I have never been a fan of having TVs in restaurants.
The only other complaint I would have is it seems they are often out of items I order. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it can be frustrating.

Went to Rise and Dine for breakfast for the first time this morning. The owner was the cook and was very friendly. Our time from sitting down to getting our food was less than 10 min. Place was very clean and well kept. I would definitely eat there again and recommend this place to family and friends. Great place to eat!

Mediocre at best. Not being negative but I only speak the truth if I didn't know how to make eggs for breakfast for myself I could still produce a better product and I received. Maybe somebody had an off-day like the cook. No condemnation but the service wasn't that great either. I wouldn't say don't go here but I won't go back.

Hummina. I haven't gone to many small family diners, but this little gem just on the fringe of Cedar Rapids is worth a visit if you're traveling through Iowa.
The staff was attentive and helpful, and it felt like a family environment that promised we were in for a treat. Coffee was a bit strong--but then I'm a coffee snob who adds more cream and sugar to anything before I drink it.
I ordered a stack of pancakes and a side of bacon. My eyes went wide when I saw the size of the pancakes! Couldn't finish what I ordered, but I enjoyed it immensely. Will be back next time I'm in town!
