Montage

Excelled any & all expectations that I had. The salad was a perfect starter. The soup was sweet with a slight kick from the ginger. The chocolate soufflé was so creamy and not too sweet. Everything was so great and worth the 5 star rating! Oh & the service, spectacular. Our waiter answered all of our questions, checked in regularly, and gave great recommendations.

Great elegant atmosphere. Service was polite and friendly. IMO the food and drinks weren't quite worth the money spent-I felt a Moscow Mule is a little high at 10 dollars. Food had good taste, but presentation was a little lacking. I had the jambalaya and it had only 3 shrimp and looked like it was spooned onto plate from a pot. For almost 25 a person I think there could have been a salad, garnish and slice of garlic toast or something along that line. Wife had crusted chicken which was good and a chipotle sauce. One side was included which she chose mashed potatoes. Still, probably not a 23 dollar meal. Portions were plentiful though. Not a bad experience, just a little pricey.

This place is always amazing in my opinion. It is upscale dining, but you can wear jeans or a fancy dress and it's all fine! The food is just delicious. I don't think I've ever gotten something I didn't like. I usually get salmon, tuna, or rosemary cashew fish, but I've also had pasta and chicken dishes, and the fall seasonal dishes are my favorite. So many great sides, main dishes, desserts, and I usually get wine or a mixed drink. Half price wine bottles on Monday is an amazing deal. Highly recommend.

Pretty good food, but does come at an expensive price. Nice establishment, if you are looking for good food and not worrying about the cost. The only reason I don't give Montage a higher rating is because I had very high expectations. The service was average, and so was the atmosphere. From what I have heard I expected exceptional waiting service and an over the top experience.

Great atmosphere and service. I was very disappointed in my main entree, however. That day, they were offering beef stroganoff. I LOVE beef stroganoff and have for years. I'm not convinced they knew how to prepare this dish. Beef stroganoff is made with a very thick sauce of beef gravy( seasoned beef stock thickened with starch or flour) and either heavy cream or sour cream. Some recipes call for red wine, which I didn't detect here(which is fine, as that's optional). Seared tender steak cuts and mushrooms are in approximately equal portions. It's served on flat egg noodles typically. It's then topped with green onions. Montage served it with tubular pasta, which is fine, and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce, though... it was thin, about the consistency of broth. The steak was okay. It wasn't tender, so I'm guessing they used sirloin rather than tenderloin. I literally found only ONE thinly-sliced mushroom. The flavor was barely detectable. Our server was fantastic. The soup was world-class, and we enjoyed the crab cakes as an appetizer. I will likely go again, and I recommend this restaurant. I do suggest ordering only what's on the menu, however.
