Bruegger's Bagels

We came in around 12:30pm on Sunday 12th and they had a long line and just a few people making sandwiches. We were called to the counter by who we assumed was the manager and took our order. She was easy to talk with and even under pressure she kept it together! She suggested we got combos with our trays and checked us out. Once we got done eating our bagels an employee even offered to take our trays! Best experience we’ve had at this location, even with the longer wait. She (and everyone in there) is doing a great job!

I have for over ten years loved this bagel shop, friendly staff (my grandson's high school friends have worked here), good bagel sandwiches, fresh well made bagels for brunch at home, etc. Today, Saturday, I was shocked when both employees were rude. It was an hour before closing time and all the remaining bagels had been dumped into a couple of bins, to the extent that the young green-haired boy at the bagel counter could not tell me which kind was where. When I was not sure that he had heard me and repeated the rest of my order, he said loudly and with apparent irritation, "IHEARD YOU!" It seemed that both employees were very anxious to close up and get out and that customers in the last hour were a bother. After so many years of good service, this was very disappointing. I grew up in a family business and would NEVER go in to expect service in the last few minutes of the store's being open as I understand how much there is to do to get ready to close. But this was a full hour before closing. If I had not really needed the bagels for company the next morning, I would have sadly left without my order.

I stopped by today to pick up two sandwiches. Ive seen the same employees in here often when I visit. Typically the service is not very personable but they have decent food so I continue to go. This time they had 7-8 people in here and they managed to give me the wrong order. It was probably because 3 came from the back very suddenly and the people by the register carried on a conversation with each other while having headphones in the entire time. I went back to get a refund and it seemed like they didn’t care they made a mistake. They didn’t offer to re make it or do anything above and beyond to retain my business. I didn’t even receive a genuine apology from anyone in there. I will no longer go to this location and I will suggest to others to do the same.
