Milltown

Milltown is a perennial favorite. There are always very interesting craft beers on draft or draughtas well as an extensive bottle list. There is limited wine and liquor/cocktails. They food is solid, but not necessarily knock your socks off. A plus is that they have some breads from Guglhupf. Very enjoyable and a great place for great beer and good food. Park across the road at the Hampton Inn garage since there is not always space next to Surplus Sid's. Also a note: they have moved the communal high top seating from being parallel to the bar to perpendicular to the bar in the center of the main dining room. Seems strange if you've been going here for years...

Stopped by for brunch, and couldn't have been happier with our decision. As an avid beer drinker, this place is everything you could ask for. Tons of hard to find beer on tap, as well as bottles and cans available. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We also really liked the feel of the place. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

This was a great find! I haven't been out to Carborro very much but came here when everything in town was packed for the Duke UNC game. It was the perfect place to be! I had the mussels and they were amazing, very cool presentation too. The mixed drinks here are good and our server was funny and attentive.

Great service and good food! I was in for a meal before a show across the street and had some time to kill. Esther took good care of me! Seemed like she turned up right when I was ready for the next thing. I started with the beer cheese soup, which was delicious. It came with bread, which was the perfect texture for the soup. I had a chopped salad for dinner with pulled pork added. That had lots of flavors going on. Finished things off with an excellent Scottish porter that had hints of chocolate and caramel and was very smooth. Really good meal here, so stop in if you want good service and a great selection of beers, especially if you like Belgians (wide variety of those, but also a good mix of other styles as well).
