Nothing to do with the food and everything to do the customer service. My second experience there today, I called over the phone to order two burrito bowls for pickup. I told the girl over the phone that I wanted two bowls with Mexican rice, salsa and all the stuff that’s supposed to be included in there. My husband goes to pickup the food and when he gets home we see that the food that was given to us was just beans, lettuce, and chicken. There was no rice or anything else. We drive back to the restaurant and I inform the cashier that my both of our burrito bowls only have beans, lettuce and chicken. I also didn’t get a salsa for the chips that comes with it. I tell the cashier that they need to remake it because my food is cold at this point. She says yeah they will remake it. They didn’t even remake it because they hand me back the food 2 seconds later and it is still cold. There was no way it would’ve been remade already. So really all they did was add the missing ingredients on top of my cold food. They also tell me that I need to pay $2 additional dollars for what they’re adding even though I told them over the phone what I wanted and it was their mistake in the first place. So I pay for it, get our food and leave. Upon checking the food again in the car I see that the rice is still missing. Of course it is because they didn’t bother to remake it. Just complete carelessness on their part.We drive back there again and I tell the cashier the rice is still not in there. They then went ahead and gave me two small containers of rice which was half the amount of rice I would’ve gotten had it been made right. The LEAST they could’ve done was remake it for all this inconvenience. Just horrible customer service overall

This place has a nice ambience and great customer service. I also felt their drinks were good and reasonably priced. The prices are on the higher end for burritos, but I know they pay their employees well, so I don't think that is an issue. That being said, I would not recommend coming here if you are looking for actually authentic California-style burritos. My partner and I recently relocated from California after living there our whole lives, and were excited to try this place out since it was advertised as California-style and had good reviews. However, they did not grill the tortillas here before making the burritos, they did not include the salsa inside the burrito, the guacamole was underseasoned, and they do not have refried beans available. Also, their chips are too thick and resemble more of a cracker than a tortilla chip in my opinion. We got the salsa verde and habanero salsa on the side, added it to the burritos, and still found the food to be bland. Some people might prefer their burritos and chips this way and that is totally okay! But it is not California style, so I thought I would leave this review so people would understand what the burritos and chips are actually like. The building itself somewhat resembles an actual CA-style taqueria, but the burritos are not. If you like your burritos and chips in the style described, I would recommend going here because everything else about this place is good! That being said, I will probably not be returning, and I do think there are other places in Chapel Hill with more authentic burritos if that is what you are looking for.

I’ve eaten here about 5 times or so. Pros: Staff are all super nice and the outdoor patio has good ambiance. Cons: Drinks and food are on the pricey side, and the burritos are a little bland (I always have to add salt or hot sauce).

Tried this place twice since it was heavily recommended. Could barely finish my burrito either time. Soggy and mushy tortillas, with bland and sloppy filling. I was excited for the salsas, but they ranged from watery to just ok. Chips were fine, but not worth the mediocre food. If flavor is your enemy, then by all means try the place. 2 stars since the staff were nice, and the food was edible.

I struggle to understand why Carrburitos has such high reviews. I had the fish tacos and chicken tacos and have never tasted anything so bland. Both items tasted like seasoning was an option that was declined. The chicken in the taco literally tasted like it was freshly removed from a can then placed on the grill. I’ve never been so disappointed. Taco Bell serves a better burrito. The chips were nice.

The reason I’m giving it two stars is because the staff were super nice and friendly! And had good vibes.. it was my first time eating here a few weeks ago and a lot of different people recommended this place and I tried the nachos and I didn’t like them they were soggy and plus it tasted like the pork was stew beef and I wasn’t feeling it wasn’t really fit to eat and wouldn’t recommend the nachos.. my aunt she got a burrito and she said it was to plain and didn’t have all that much of a taste to it.. maybe another time I’ll give them a try again and hopefully it be better but definitely wasn’t what I was expecting

Went for the name, who doesn't love a good pun! The chips and guac were wonderful, I was blown away by the meat quality - cozy spot with lots of character, if it was a few degrees warmer at the time I would have sat on the adorable patio but inside was nice too. Not a lot of places like this left in the world, check it out!!!

This place is a class act. The place just feels good when you walk in and they do what they say they will do. We order larger orders for our office and the food is always delicious and accurate. Very easy to pick up orders to go, and would highly recommend that option. Wonderful food, great establishment, better people.
