After trying out many of the local Mexican food establishments in town, including one recommended a couple of times, Reyes Market is hands down the most authentic Mexican food in Carpinteria. They lived up to the hype, and the food was beyond delicious. This is the only review I have left for a restaurant in Carp. If you want great tasting authentic Mexican food at a fair price come here.

Paid $15 for a Carne asada burrito, what I got was a burrito made with cheap ground beef without any seasoning. If I’m paying $15 for an average sized burrito it should be made with steak. The taste was TERRIBLE. The only redeeming quality was the salsa bar. Never going back.

The marketplace is a fun place to windowshop while waiting for your food.
You need to be able to read Spanish to read the menu, but they do have an English version on their website. Friendly people, and the food is cheaper than a fast food joint.
The double burger is delicious, messy, and too big to finish. The fries are frozen but perfectly cooked. Tacos are huge, tasty, and made with fresh ingredients. My fiance thinks that their chicken tacos are better than most of the "gourmet" places in the area.

Last several times I've bought a burrito here ($14.50) they have been prepared so embarrassingly bad they were inedible until I dumped the contents in a bowl. I've praised this place in the past for the food quality but for now il avoid returning.
