What a great place for drinks and appetizers! My husband and I and sister-in-law and her husband all went up here to celebrate her birthday. Loved 🥰 the atmosphere! We sat outside on the patio and it overlooks Lake Tahoe. It was a beautiful day!!! I highly recommend trying this place out. We definitely will be back.
A MUST if you are in North Tahoe City!!! They views alone are the reason to go, but really the food is outstanding! Full of flavor! Their drinks are delicious too. Service was great full of kind folks.
Great food on the beach of Lake Tahoe. Staff is amazingly friendly and Taylor and Tori are amazing! They know how to treat people right! Gluten-free friendly and you won't be disappointed by anything you order. Flat out great experience!
It's a beautiful location, with several different seating options, I went solo, so they placed me in an awkward place, a place surrounded by many very loud groups.... It could be romantic, I definitely saw couples everywhere. Food was cooked perfectly. A little less flavor than you would expect. Portions were larger than many. But overall, despite the loudness, and the awkward placing because I was a solo diner, I think it was probably a great place for anybody looking for a romantic, fun, and tasty place to check out. A wonderful waterfront view anyone would love to dine and view, all day long well into the magical sunset of Lake Tahoe ❤️‼️❤️
Went to this restaurant while I was in Tahoe. It’s one of my favorite places to have a drink and enjoy the view of Lake Tahoe. And of course had to get one of their famous Woody’s drink

Second time dining at Gar Woods, it was a good time with good food. I was able to get a quick reservation while on the road even though they were pretty busy. Service was quick at the hostess stand and also with our waiter. They had drink specials and a lot of options for kids. We got a seat at a booth and ordered some vinegar chips for an appetizer. They’re our favorite now. I got some tacos and a margarita. The house margarita was delicious! Service was great and waiter was friendly and attentive. Coming back again next year!
Great spot along the Lake Tahoe for a brunch! The views are awesome from the dining area outside. There are several levels and we got seated on the outside deck close to the edge with an amazing view. The food was great and the service was as well. We were there on a Sunday and it was fairly packed. There is a short pier from the beach that you can walk, quite enjoyable to do so after the meal.
The atmosphere, setting on Lake Tahoe shore, the dock, outdoor seating…WOW!!
Food was quite good, but so far limited to kids burgers and fries. These were given high-five on taste!
The “Gar Wood Wet Woody” is a very tasty frozen drink topped with a shot of rum. Many additional “Wet Woody” options are on the drink menu. I had two different types. Both were very good!
Great stop for food and/or drink, as we boarded the AWS Incline “Sierra Cloud” catamaran from their dock. Sierra Cloud used to depart from the Hyatt. Hasn’t been updated on Google maps yet. They are very much running awesome catamaran runs. We had awesome captain Jeff and crew. Just not at Hyatt anymore they are donezies there still rocking and rolling from Gar Woods. Great 2 hour catamaran cruise in lake. Don’t miss it. Great for locals, and visitors (as we were).
