Flying Fish Grill - Carmel - Photo album

If you like fish cooked perfectly, this restaurant must be on your visit list. I have eaten here 5-6 times, and every time the food was outstanding. Wait staff are super friendly and professional. Only downside is that the entrance is not handicap friendly.
Loved this restaurant. Small and cozy, very fun vibe that makes you feel like you’re somewhere else. The food was very good. The Asian fusion dishes are very well executed. The California Tower and the Black Bean Halibut were outstanding. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants good
This place was recommended to us and we went for our 10 year anniversary weekend… it did NOT disappoint. The Yin-tan salmon was amazing! Easily one of the best places we’ve eaten and we have been fortunate with our dining experiences. Tony was an excellent server as well. We highly recommend!
If you are into Chinese fusion cuisine and a little more grease than normal, this restaurant is for you. I had halibut and it was so-so. It would have been a lot better in less (soy?) sauce. I am still traumatized by my first bite of calamari - there was so much grease I raced for the water. The wo
What a great experience. Wonderful staff, loved the atmosphere, food was everything we hoped for and much more. Hardest thing was deciding what to order. We had 4 people in our party everyone ordered something different and all of the dishes were amazing. Banana split desert was ridiculous, should h
Their style of salsa and “chips” was a welcome surprise. We had the California Tower, Rare Pepper Ahi, and the Yin Yan Salmon and LOVED all three. The most delicious dinner in Carmel and well worth the price! Can’t wait to come back 🥰
Wish we could give more than 5 Stars. We've been visiting this area for decades and have missed coming here. Too bad for us. What an amazing first visit. Through good and bad times, this place has remained. You have to visit to experience why. What a great experience. Thank you all ;-) Seafood Clay
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Tuna sashimi was fresh and the rare peppered ahi (pic) was very tasty.
Delicious meal here. Would highly recommend the halibut in particular. Excellent service, cosy atmosphere and food was fresh and full of flavour. Can’t wait to come back!
We loved our evening at Flying Fish Grill. The calamari appetizer was the best calamari I've ever had in the US. Utterly fresh, tender, perfectly prepared and served with a spicy aioli. The yin-yan salmon was exceptional, as was the almond crusted sea bass. Favorite dessert: green tea sundae. Ser
Went here for my girlfriend’s birthday and had a very nice time with some pros and cons: Pros: - really nice environment with authentic looking Japanese wood, dimly lit, romantic environment - super nice host - tasty food for the most part - appetizers very tasty Cons: - against the waitress’s gui
While check in was lengthy with parties leaving late and tables not available, eventually we got seated and thats with a reservation at 7:30 PM. So be wary that walking in wont cut it. If you can get in, Christina, our server was amazing tonight, cracked a few jokes and knows the whole menus well a
I have had the fortunate opportunity to dine at Flying Fish on multiple occasions over the last 30 years on vacation trips to Carmel....FANTASTIC SPOT!! -- always on-point with excellent food, courteous & personable service & timeless, cozy atmosphere!
Great service! Great food! They were able to very successfully accommodate my wife's food allergies and on top of that the food was great. Looking forward to returning!
Some of the most delicious fish we’ve ever eaten. The service alone is worth going for. Grateful for the personal feeling of welcome our party was given. Don’t skip the dessert.
The Flying Fish Grill was recommended by my GP. I have to say I'm glad he did. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is fresh and delicious. We will be back.
I've been coming here for almost 40 years -- since the days it was called Shabu Shabu. I'm embarrassed that it's taken me this long to post a review! While original owner Kenny retired 5 years ago, the Flying Fish is still my all-time favorite restaurant. The food is always excellent and the frie
