Not that impressed! We had lo mein and found it to have very little flavor. EXTREMELY skimpy on the ingredients. We ordered take out assuming we would get the soup that is listed on the menu as included but then told that soup is not included on take out, yet the price was not adjusted. First time we tried this place and probably won’t go back. We’ll travel a little further to 146th & Hazeldell to one of our favorite Chinese carry out!

I normally do not leave reviews, but I had to after this meal to warn others. I just ordered the General Tso's lunch combo. The chicken was so hard to eat. It was very hard to cut even with a knife and gives me the feeling that it is not safe to eat. The crab rangoon has absolutely no taste, and reminds you of eating a fortune cookie. The entire meal is completely flavorless and did not seem fresh at all. I definitely would not recommend.

We visited for the second time since the restaurant changed ownership. The first time was disappointing and it was a while back so I thought we’d give it another go. It seems that the last time wasn’t a fluke. I asked my fellow diners to remind me not to go back. The food isn’t nearly as good as it was under prior ownership and the service was lackluster at best.

I'm slightly torn with this review. My server was 5 stars. The atmosphere/environment was 5 stars. The appetizer, soup and drinks were 5 stars.... but... my actual meal (sweet and sour chicken) was lacking (i'd rate it 1.5 stars tbh) The chicken is not traditionally breaded. It tastes like it was frozen and microwaved. I'm depressed. After experiencing authentic Chinese from Sichuan, it's hard to come back here despite it looking clean and having friendly staff. You can tell this place tries. They certainly geared their menu and food towards Americans. I'd rather not have dried out poultry, though.

I love Mandarin House, a long standing authentic Chinese restaurant in Carmel. They have a wonderful buffet for Sunday lunches with congee, dim sum, and a variety of food with distinctive flavors. When going to order food, you can ask for the Chinese menu, which has their more authentic offerings.

My favorite lately here has been the Mapo tofu, ordered extra spicy. Love it.
I see lots of people doing curbside pickup today; we ate inside. It was very clean and very peaceful. Server was very attentive. They may have kimchi or sweet yellow radish on request. Korean menu available too which includes the noodle dishes: Jjamppong, Jjajangmyun, and other dishes like Yang Jang Pi, Rajoki, Kkanpunggi (chicken), and Kkanpung saeu (shrimp).
Mandarin House is the only place you can get these in Carmel and Fishers!

Open for carry out! Come out and support our restaurants Carmel! Great food and kind service. The beef and green peppers has so much flavor and tender meat. Loved the egg rolls too. Sweet and sour chicken was for my kids and I had to cut then off before they popped. Plenty for leftovers during the 2020 quarantine!

1) The food tastes very average 2) the quantity of food is low. I ordered fried rice, and was very disappointed at the freshness , taste and quality. I also ordered a steamed fish dish that alone was about $16 , just two SMALL , DRY, HARD to chew fillets. definitely not fresh. That was IT !! I spent about $30 ( tax and tip) for this, but I would not go there again unless the owner makes major improvement.
