Yogurtland

Yogurtland is always a special treat whether for oneself or the whole family. This establishment has made a few changes for the better when it comes to safety and access. Now it is the employee's who add the toppings instead of self serve but in my opinion it is better to minimize the passing of germs. Great job Yogurtland for thinking of everyone and continuing to make delicious treats.

There used to be a real variety of fruit flavors and dairy vs non dairy for those whose stem cells & other health ( naturopath) requirements for anti inflammation diets, require giving up dairy. No longer—it’s a majority of toffee, caramel, chocolate variations, with chocolate and coffee drinks taking up space of former fruit flavors. The strawberry 🍓 flavor is waaay too sweet Ca strawberry content and never rotates out or exchanges for a non-dairy version. The fresh mango, which I relied upon to for sublime and unequalled deliciousness with plain tart or mango tart yogurt, are no longer on the menu or have been inedibly unripe.on 5 occasions. Although last time I went, the blueberries were awesomely sweet & humongous, and this brought me back. The ripe, sweet fruit as a healthy topping, used to make our CAPITOLA Yogurtland THE PLACE TO GO. On top of that , It has gone from .30cents per oz to nearly .44 in terms of pricing. Worst of all, the leftover double pints, which were frozen hard and available to grab to take home and put in the freezer ( half the price of the soft serve) are now less than half the size they were, or double or more the price, for such a small amount of yogurt that you are better off buying any frozen confection by weight, in any grocery store. When compared to 1.99- - 4.00 dollars a pint at Safeway, or better yet, Grocery Outlet, it is no longer worth stopping for unless they have your favorite flavor in their slowing rotation. Never have I seen the fresh green apple I have asked for, for years,( which I can get all over the Bay Area) Forget guanabana or other unusual fruit like pineapple, although there was a guava combination a few years ago. I search out frozen Yogurt and CAPITOLA Yogurtland used to make the time and excessive spend worth it. Now the stop is more out of convenience, not due to the excitement of unusual and the best tasting frozen yogurt anywhere. The service and employees are welcoming, kind and conscientious both before and since pandemic restrictions, but I do miss the water fountain which has nothing more important in its place. All of the things I miss cannot be blamed on Corperate .

Had a laugh when I went into the bathroom and saw a sticker on the mirror that read: "Place your creation here, snap a photo and share it with your friends." If you take your "creation" (the yogurt, not the other one) to the bathroom, you have issues. Otherwise, pretty clean place and many yogurt options. I particularly liked having the strawberry and chocolate mousse on the same machine, so I could get half-half.

They change the flavors they have daily. Top your yogurt with fresh fruits, candy pieces or hot fudge! Price is based on the weight of your creation.
