Great diner food with an extensive menu. Offered breakfast all day. We ordered the wings, mozzarella sticks and crispy Brussel sprouts to start. The food came out quickly and was tasty. The Brussel sprouts were crispy and the aioli was spicy, a perfect accompaniment for the sprouts. For dinner we ordered the Mac and cheese with bacon, the Hangover burger, a kids meal and the Cobb salad. Good classic Mac and cheese served in a skillet. Generous portions on the burger and salad. Great service. Would definitely go back.

Returning Jan 2022 the food, service and oldies music is still enjoyable. The Chef's specials menu changed. {see my photos} # Dish N Dat’s Fried Lobster salad is perfectly well-balanced in terms of all its components. The hard boiled egg was cooked to perfection. The yolk had no hint of grey on its border indicating an overcooked egg, nor did it have a hint of dark yellow in the center indicating an undercooked egg. There was a perfect fan on the avocado slices. The real bacon accompanying the salad was crispy and provided crunch to the greens. Red onion gave the right heat and the cherry tomatoes smoothed it all out blending it all together with what one expects from a Cobb Salad. The house dill dressing was fresh and creamy. I would prefer the lobster wasn’t fried and right from the shell. It would be nice to have an option. Still, a fine salad. # Lunch Tuesday included lime and apple margaritas, two quesadillas, matzo ball soup, a chicken salad sandwich, and ground beef tacos. This batch of soup's broth was too salty and more celery than needed, but it's so healthy it will be ordered again. The chicken salad sandwich accompanying it was surprisingly large with toasted rye. The chicken inside was large pieces of breast, with maybe a mayo/grape/celery dressing on top. Good, but not traditional chicken salad with diced chicken mixed in with the dressing. The taco menu item is overpriced. Two soft tacos and either fries or mixed greens as a side, on a Tuesday, two more quesadillas @$4. each would have been a better buy. Dish N Dat has a big menu we look forward to trying. # Visiting Dish N Dat two days in a row, the food, service, atmosphere and retro fifties/sixties music make dining here a pleasant experience. Our first meal was on a Tuesday and we were pleased to find the house margarita was on special this day for $3.00! Optional salt or sugar rim. Three flavors. Good pour. The bottled "On The Rocks" Aviation gin drink is enjoyable. The wings app had a good size with our choice of buffalo sauce on the side. Also on special, quesadillas were $4.00 with beef, pork or chicken. My partner got one of each. All were well seasoned and portioned. The lobster sandwich on a grilled roll with arugula @$22.00. was pricier than some, but still a treat. I liked the chef grilled the inside of the bun and left the outside as is. Sandwiches where bread seems right out of a plastic bag always disappoint. The Chef adds arugula, which to me is a bitter green, so it detracts more than compliments the sweet lobster, but not enough to pass on one. The fries were so-so. For our second lunch, it was great to find a place in CT that serves matzo ball soup. It's delicious, too, and is proudly the owner's grandma's recipe. So healthy, I asked him if anyone in his family ever got sick. "Never!" he said. The soup and sandwich combo offers tuna, chicken salad or grilled cheese. The tuna was creamy with good flavor. The rodeo burger, like all their burgers, is a half pound and served, pink, no pink or killed. The latter, our waitress said, was basically a hockey puck. My partner ordered no pink, and that's how it was served, with big crispy fried onions, bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce. We each took half of our sandwiches home. The French fries that came with his burger were preferable to the ones I had with my lobster roll. More uniform in cut and size, crispier and better seasoned. Our waitress said we had a different cook this day than from our first lunch of their two chefs. She added that regulars will call and ask who's cooking today, as they both have their fans. The owner, noting our return, treated us to his Maryland crab tots, which he sells a lot of here. Warm and crunchy with true crab interiors, we could see why they're popular. The red house sangria was a good size, ample with fruit and nice portion of wine. The owner also owns Sorella's in Hartford, and Tavern at Keney Park in Windsor. (See my reviews/photos) Dis N Dat is kid friendly and a fun spot for a family, but adult couples on a casual outing will enjoy dining here, too.

I absolutely love this place! It is by far my all time favorite diner and I've gone to many since that's the only place my bf like to eat out at. They have fantastic food that is never burnt, they are quick at making food, they have awesome waiters. I don't think they can do anything to improve it because it's already perfect.

Honestly. You walk in. The outside looks like a house. Go in and you are transformed to a old school diner vibe. Cocktails on point and well priced. Food options galore. The potato salad was the best I have ever had. Milkshakes were awesome. Never had bad food over there. 100 percent recommend to anyone.

Made a reservation and had a amazing experience, the staff is very friendly and our waiter Kevin was very polite and made sure we were served well. I got the Mexican chicken advacdo wrap and my girlfriend got the New York Ruben and we were not disappointed, the food was excellent. We will definitely be coming back and by the way there's plenty of parking and space for car lovers.

Wonderful service, went for an early dinner, was a little loud because there were families with young kids but they seemed to love their picks from such an extensive menu. My Hartford Grinder was delicious. The bread was light and fresh and the chicken cutlet was so crispy not greasy. The fries were delicious. My son and sister enjoyed their meals as well. $60 - 1 app, 3 dinners, sodas

My boyfriend and I love this place! We come here at least once a month. The food is solid and the owner is the nicest man ever. I am from North Jersey so I do appreciate the classic diner vibe of this place (and a few items named after New Jersey LOL). The workers are all so nice and my boyfriend and I always think of Dish n dat when we want breakfast / brunch.
