Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been on a mission to try most of the smoothies, instead of my usual Island Green. All of the smoothies have been amazing! The staff is always friendly and pleasant!! My only major concern I have is for management to stress the importance of staff cleansing hands, especially after touching their hair. Almost every single visit, the young ladies are fixing their hair or tying it back prior to fixing my smoothie. This is totally unsanitary! No one should be touching their hair in an area where food and drinks are being prepared. I’m giving 5-stars simply because the staff are always pleasant along with food and smoothies. The sanitary concerns are a teachable moment for the young staff.

I like the smoothies and other foods but the place is dirty. The staff consists of young women and a few young guys who are helpful but never say "hi," "Welcome to Tropical Smoothie," etc. The white hallway wall has several spots that were painted over that look terrible, a consistent coat of paint is needed along the wall. When I visited today I was told they had no blueberries, so while I looked at the menu I also noticed how dirty the cables were coming out of the POS and the counter. After ordering I looked at the sink behind the employee and it is filthy with pink mold on the hot water faucet and the interior of the sink is nasty. The entire food prep area needs a good cleaning. The men's bathroom door and walls are covered in black smudges, almost as if, the walls and door aren't cleaned. The health inspection is 91 which is good but I'm considering not being a customer if they don't take cleaning the place seriously. It is important to keep your customers health in mind when operating a business.

Stood at the register for almost 15 mins while two workers didn’t say a word to me besides asking if I had an online order to which I answered no. They acted as if I was a nuisance giving me side glares while doing pointless jobs such as moving around straws. While I was waiting, another girl entered looking for a straw. The employees were in the back during this so I was helping her look and we couldn’t find any. One employee comes out and she asks her and she points and says “yeah they’re…” and didnt finish her sentence because she had already turned around. I stood there for two mins with them not even looking at me then walked out.

Paradise Point smoothie was great as always. Convinced Hubby to try the Watermelon Mojito Smoothie, was delicious, exceeded expectations. I gave 4 stars because customer service was horrible, took at 3 min for someone to greet us, cashier never smiled. I was able to overlook as the Smoothies made up for the lack of customer service.
