Native Texan here, and this is the closest I’ve come to finding a place outside of Texas that serves up decent barbecue—especially the sausage. The sausage was the star on my plate. I had ordered brisket as well. The meat was fine but it wasn’t cut into nice thin slices like brisket is always served in Texas. So I didn’t get to see evidence of a smoke ring or able to give the meat a nice tug to see that accordion flex effect to demonstrate it was cooked properly because it came to me looking more like pulled pork. But they get points for not drowning their meats in sauce. They leave that up to you. The flavor of the sauce was spot on, but a little too thick in texture like a barbecue sauce from the store. It should be thin. And although untoasted Texas toast bread is what’s traditionally served, the little roll they give you with your meal instead is buttery and savory. I wasn’t angry at it. It all came served on butcher paper and they have pickles and onions to go along with it too. Some of the sides weren’t traditional but I’ll take creamed spinach any day over beans , coleslaw, and/or potato salad. The staff were professional and the facility was clean. I’d come back.

Went to Dickeys as had a free classic sandwich for my birthday and eat there occasionally. Service was great, food was great and they made my birthday special. Our waiter at Houlihans where we went for my actual birthday didn’t even acknowledge my birthday so this was something it really appreciated at Dickeys. Will def be back with my family.

Very tender and moist pulled pork sandwiches and the Mac and cheese was to die for. Their chocolate chip cookies were also delicious. Free kids meals on Sundays which is awesome!!! Prices are also very good. The staff were all very nice and the restaurant looked very clean. Keep up the good work!!

The meat was juicy and tender and the staff was friendly and helpful. My husband and I both got a 2 meat plate with 2 sides. My plate had a lot of fat on it and the staff was willing to give me a leaner cut! They really made my day and the dinner were delicious. We also liked the 3 different bbq sauce choices as well as the pickles and onions you can add to your plate. The jalapeno baked beans had a really good heat to them, not too hot but just right!

First time here. Very rustic in style. Meats smoked on site. They have a different "deal of the day", which it would have been nice, since it was our first visit,if that had been pointed out to us. Anyway, this is a 3rd generation family owned business since 1941,since franchised, that still has the first location in operation. They have a good selection of meats including chicken breast, turkey, pork, kielbasa and beef brisket. We ordered the two meat plate with 2 sides. The beef brisket and chicken were very good. You have your choice of the sauce to add.The only complaint I have is the meat should have been hot..it was lukewarm.
