Kimchi Mama

OMG this place is great! We’ve never had Korean food before Kimchi Mama and my whole family loves it, even my picky teen thinks its awesome! We usually get the Kko-kko-bop which is a Cupbop made with chicken...the hubby takes it straight (spicy) and my daughter and i get it without the spice and they have no problem making it any way we like it. They also make the best dumplings! They have two sizes a cup ($6) and regular ($10) 6 and 12 pieces respectively. The shrimp are my favorite but the veggie are super tasty too. You can even get a dumpling with your CupBop for a $1 for 1 or $1.50 for 2. They are a nice crispy compliment, a little surf n turf if you will, for less than $10. Gotta love it. The wings are a little expensive at $11 for 8 but they are nice and crunchy. There are so many more delicious treats that we haven’t even tried yet from ramen to glass noodles to Gangnam Style stir fry (Bokkeum) but whatever you do.....DO NOT leave without an ice cream fish waffle...its so cute and comes in strawberry, chocolate or sweet red bean varieties (they sell out of chocolate most days) they are so cute though...fish shaped “waffles” with vanilla ice cream topped with a layer of your choice of flavor. Soooo adorable, my daughter loves them :). So next time you feel like take out try Kimchi Mama they are always hot, fresh and delicious!!!

Everything is delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's hard to choose a favorite, but the Korean burrito with either pork or beef is a unique option. I thought that the balance of rice, meat, and crisp veggies was perfect in each bite. Also, Japchae with beef is something that I like to get every time I get Korean food, and they do it well here. There's more veggies than I'm used to at most places, but they don't skimp on the meat either, and I turned out to really enjoy the veggies. The only improvement is that I wish they had more drink options. I love hot green tea, especially genmaicha. Or the unsweetened Ito En bottled drinks. This food is too good to be eating with the soda that they have. But i can always order for takeout and drink whatever I want at home. I can't wait till next time when I get to try even more of their food. I'm 100% confident that anything they do, they'll do well. Caldwell is lucky to have Kimchi Mama. Even if you're not familiar with Korean food, there's lots of pictures to help you decide. I think anybody, even picky eaters, should be able to find something they like here.

I had spicy pork bimbimbap which was absolutely delicious. So fresh! Also bought some homemade Kimchi. $4 for 16 oz. A great bargain and really good kimchi. It's a lovely place with counter seating, takeout and delivery, And really nice people. A great addition to our local restaurants. Give it a try whether you are hungry for Korean food or new to the cuisine. Oh, and they have bubble tea. :)

What happened to Kimchi mama? I ordered veg bimbimbop and instead I got soggy greasy cabbage chopped big with a few pieces of pepper. Don’t get fooled by pictures u see. Quality and freshness is not there anymore... it’s a sign when kimchi is not fresh anymore. Disappointed that I have to take them off my list of places to eat 😥
