This is one of our favorite places to visit when we are on the island! The sand wedge is so so so good. My husband has tried numerous sandwiches and enjoyed them all. My son had the grilled cheese sandwich and said it was one of the best he has ever had. It is small inside but they’ve got outdoor seating as well. Even when it’s busy, they do keep the line moving as much as they can! Definitely worth a visit and we miss the sandwiches when we are back at home!
Calabash Deli is one of my local favorites. Everytime I'm visiting the area I stop in for a corned beef sandwich. There is an outdoor seating area that is pet friendly. There is also inside seating. They are closed on Sunday. The staff is always welcoming.
I love this place. Something I discovered on my last trip there was a surprise to me... After paying for my order with a credit card I just happen to ask...Do you charge for using a charge card? She replied yes 4%. It was my fault for not asking prior to completing the transaction. I asked her " I thought you were supposed to let customers know if you charge a fee?!" She responded "its on the menu on the door." Ah! Ok...so just out of curiosity I looked on my way out. The menu has a credit price and a cash price. After thinking about it I went back in to share my thought on it. I said to her "I see the prices on the menu, but I thought you gave a discount for cash. Not charging 4% to use a credit card." She just smiled and apologized. Anyways, just thought I'd share.... I'll still go there, just with cash now. First time this happened to me as most places have it posted at their registers.
I'm so glad we skipped all of the other restaurants. This place is a "get there" spot. Get there if you can! The seafood bisque was creamy and had plenty of seafood. It's served with a side of bagel crisps. On a surprisingly cold first day of spring, it hit the spot. My husband had a delightful baloney sandwich; made with fresh bread and thin slices of grilled baloney. We finished off with the BEST cheesecake!!!!!! It's creamy and dense, not filled with air. We loved our meal!
My Nana and I were passing through this delightful area on our way home from Myrtle Beach. It was like finding a treasure..warm welcome ,exceptional service the food, I could go on and one. Fresh delicious, mouth watering. Our hats off to you all. We will come back. Had a wonderful steak filly, brought my husband home some fabulous seafood salad. Carrot cake. Thank you all.
I can never say enough good things about The Calabash Deli. I always order the Antipasto Salad because it’s the best I’ve ever had. The staff is amazing and always so helpful. This trip I also added on the New England Clam Chowder and it was amazing. My husband ordered the Bratwurst Sandwich and you can tell from the photos that his sandwich was the best he’s ever eaten. When I phoned our order in I spoke to Jennifer and she’s so precious!! I love all of the staff here and can’t thank them enough. I always make it a point to let them all know how much I appreciate them. I’d recommend anyone to eat here. Great food, reasonable prices. Try them out!
Friendly staff that appreciate your business. Best Ruben I've ever had! Cookies were a tad overpriced for the taste but I don't regret anything I bought and ate. Whenever I vacation at OIB I will absolutely return..minus 1 star for atmosphere because it was so busy and I don't think the size accommodated the amount of people that flood this delicious deli. It was crowded and not many places to sit.
This is my favorite deli. They offer breakfast and lunch, lots of take home options for dinner as well. Friendly staff. I have not been disappointed in anything that I have tried.
Great consistent food. Fresh and a nice variety. My favorite is the BLT on the sub roll (add cheddar cheese), and the cookies are delicious! We don’t miss a chance to stop by every time we are in town.
What a gem! Love it. We are becoming regulars. The chicken Philly is awesome! My hubby loves the regular Philly. The baked goods we've tried(coconut bomb and peanut butter cookies) are sinfully fantastic!
