This past weekend I had the pleasure of having several meals from Mountain Chef Bistro. We went to the restaurant twice and had several other meals catered during a Women’s Retreat I attended. Everything was outstanding. Also, I highly recommend your try the fries.

We had an excellent experience. Fried mozzarella sticks were some of the best ever. Red sangria, wife says was the best she's had since visiting Spain. Great food, beer and wine. Very friendly and comfortable.

Recommended by Mike Hopkins at the Terrell House B&B, we were not disappointed. Service was fast and friendly. Nice selection of beers and wines and a wide variety of menu options to choose from. The meal started with a fresh tossed salad, all the dressings are house made. I liked the toasted sesame. Warm crusty French baggett and warm pretzel bread with whipped butter was served on the side. We both had the seafood broil with fresh Grouper, Scallops and Shrimp. It was perfectly done, accompanied by steamed seasonal vegetables and rice. My husband said these were some of the best scallops he's ever had. Dessert was homemade cherry cobbler and ice cream. OMG! As good as mama's. This place is a rare gem.

Just wow! Fantastic farm to table very high caliber food and presentation loved it. It's worth the higher price in this small mountain town, a real gem.

Mountain Chef Bistro is a rare gem only found in Burnsville, NC. I hired Mountain Chef to cater my Father's 70th birthday party this past December during COVID to keep everything safe amongst my family. After the amazing outcome of the event, I will always have him cater my next event for any special occasion. His professionalism and fine cuisine options were top of the line. From the Charcuterie board, to the amazing heavy apps, salad, and sliced Filet Mignon, everyone at the event was pleased to the uppermost! We had a great meal here . The waitstaff was very friendly & attentive. We had the shrimp and grits and one on the specials with crab & pasta . Both were very good. We didn’t have room dessert but decided to take a piece of the key lime pie home and it was the best I have ever had . We will be back soon!

Very unexpected for small town dining. Food was excellent and our service was great. Thursday night is Italian night but you can still order off of main menu. I had the broiled scallops with spinach and hollandaise. It was excellent. My husband had the eggplant parmesan. Also very good. Will come again when we come back to this area to visit.

Our first visit ina roundtrip to/from Mt.Mitchell and back to Asheville. Garden salad was fresh with delicious home made blue cheese dressing. My wife had dill pickle fried chicken and I had the fish & chips - both were outstanding. Wait staff was attentive, atmosphere warm and our compliments to the chef. We will be back!

The restaurant changes menus each evening. We visited on a Thursday evening. Great service and servers. Awesome meals. Would recommend Chef Bistro to anyone seeking an up-scale dining experience instead of hamburgers and pizza.

Really really impressed with this place. We came here to celebrate a family event and the staff was very friendly and at no point rushed us. It looks like the menu rotates here, which is all the more incentive to come back regularly. The food was faaaaaaantastic. This really was gourmet food at very reasonable prices. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and I see why this was highly recommended. Beer selection was ok and there were lots of appealing entrees. a+

Mountain Chef Bistro is a great addition to Main street in Burnsville. We have had dinner here multiple times and I have never had a bad meal. The menu changes every time we go, and it's great to have such options. If you manage to have room after dinner, you have to get dessert. Wow!

The food was delicious. I had conch fritters and goat cheese and fig flatbreads with balsamic dressing drizzled on top. My son had French toast with cinnamon butter and fruit. The hot chocolate was divine. So was the Kahlua chocolate ganache cake and blueberry lemon cake. I was glad to see how busy they were. It makes me happy to see local businesses thrive. Considering how busy they were, we were served in a timely manner. Eating this type of food in this type of atmosphere, you want to take your time and savor the flavor. I highly recommend Mountain Chef Bistro. It's culinary artistry that is very welcoming.

Staff was super friendly. I didn't sample the food, bit I had a couple local micro brews on tap. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the people while I was partaking. The local artisan shops are fun to peruse pre and post visit!

Absolutely OUTSTANDING. Chef Bill/ owner is a one man kitchen operation. Locals love the place and you will too. Call early for reservations or even better the day before. This is NOT a fast food place. Chef Bill prepares each meal from start to finish.

I went on st Patrick's day and had the cornered beef and cabbage special. It was cooked perfect and a large portion. They had a good selection of beer . I look forward to having their Italian dishes served on Wednesdays.

If you find yourself anywhere near Burnsville in search of superb food, Mountain Chef Bistro is your spot. Each meal I have enjoyed here seems even better than the one before and last night's microgreens salad, chicken and mushroom crepes, and incredible carrot cake were simply perfect, start to finish. The seafood chowder and stuffed mushrooms are not to be missed and every magnificent dessert creation is well worth the calories. Chef Bill is creative and adventurous, the fresh blackboard menu offerings changing daily with plenty to please anyone from the vegetarian to the beef eater. Exciting combinations of flavors, beautiful presentations---what a gift it is to have this restaurant here in western NC. Great wine list and Paige is an excellent server!
