My wife and I choose a different restaurant to dine at every anniversary and this year we chose The Bancroft. We enjoyed Gibbet Hill previously and hoped that this would match that experience. We entered early for our reservation and were asked if we want to sit which we did. Our server Bob greated is and was very helpful in explaining the cocktails and the restaurant. He brought over the Parker house rolls which are some of the best rolls we have ever enjoyed. Our appetizer were the shrimp cocktail and clam chowder which were both wonderful. Then Bob took time and care to explain the menu and answer all the questions they we had. My wife had the skirt steak and I had the Au Piovre both of which cooked to perfection. After the mains we were presented with a wonderful truffle plate to celebrate our anniversary. Last was the amazing desserts of warm chocolate cake and lemocello. We both agreed that this was one of our best dining experiences. You can not go wrong at The Bancroft.
Had dinner with my family at The Bancroft earlier today. When I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the hostess. Paul served us and he delivered fantastic service. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, patient, friendly, and an all around laid back person. Our food was incredible. I started with the Parmesan Truffle Polenta fries which were so delicious. My entree was the risotto with lobster tail. The food was great and the service was seamless. It was an excellent dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
This place is a solid 4.5. We had a great time. The staff was friendly, the ambiance was nice. The steaks were EXCELLENT. The cook on both the skirt steak and the prime rib (medium rare for both) was spot on. The sides were prepared with as much care as the entrees. I left fuller than I have been in a long time. So much so that about three bites into my Sunday of the month, I looked at my husband and said "this was a mistake" but kept eating. The drinks were just as good. All around delicious food, great experience. Highly recommend for a date night or even just drinks at the bar!
Phenomenal restaurant with a great atmosphere! I recommend getting the Hub Punch, its basically two drinks for the price of one ($16). The food is delicious; a favorite of mine is the steak tartare! The service is always friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
Took a short trip to Massachusetts and stopped in for some good eats😊 the food was amazing as well as our service. The lobster roll was to die for and my husband got the steak which I know he enjoyed he barely talked me while eating 🤣👍.
Love this place! Great food and service. The burger is insanely good as is the duck confit sandwich. We got fantastic service from with Elena. Highly recommend. 😁
Ordered the Bancroft burger. Although the patty could be a little bigger, overall it is a good burger. Well crafted and presented. Pickles have an interesting taste. French fries were perfect. I would return back.
One of the best steakhouse in MA. Nice place, waiter was really nice and gave us a look of insights about the dishes.
The tomahawk is incredible and a very good portion for two.
Will be back there for sure
My husband and I like to go to different restaurants for the delicious food and the experience. We got the NY strip and the sea bass. Both very well made. The best appetizer Bancroft has is the steak tartare. Comes with a raw egg in the side that you mix in. Very deciduous combination of flavors. I gave it a 4 star because the overall experience was pleasant but not top notch.
One of the best steakhouses in the greater Boston area. The mixologists know how to make an honest drink. Whether you sit at the bar or grab a relaxing table experience in the great dining atmosphere, you won't be disappointed. Even through COVID, this restaurant didn't disappoint. The menu and wait-staff make this experience one to remember.
