Reviews of Shon Hing

So while in town the family and I wanted dinner. This spot was one of the requests we go to. Ordered 3 dinners and 2 Appetizers and came out to almost 70 dollars which I think is ridiculous. For the price the food quality did not match. So to start I went to pick up the food when they told me too. People who were coming in after me were getting there food before me, I heard in the back they need to work on my order cause I'm still waiting. What was supposed to be done in 35 minutes took an hour. We got to the hotel food was still nice and hot which was good. I got the general taos chicken. Very good spice sorta tasted like a wing sauce. But they drowned my chicken in it, I suggest ordering lite sauce or on the side if you get this dish so your chicken doesn't get soggy and you can control the heat and how much spice you want. The fried rice was good not great. I wish they would use bigger pieces of pork in the rice but that's just a personal thing. So overall the 3 is coming from price, time to get food, and average dinners. Possible chance of returning.

Called in an hour ahead to pick up my order. Went in and only 3 booths were being used and a huge line of people waiting all for take out. People were being ignored by hostess and walking out. We waited 15 minutes only to be pulled aside and told our order was never made and had to redo it. Waited 30 minutes for an order I called in an hour and a half prior. Won’t be returning.

The food is great, the restaurant is quiet, and the staff was polite and very helpful. We will be going again to try other menu items. We ordered Generals chicken (very tasty but not the same as General Tso's chicken, it was more savory and spicy), Mandarin chicken (not like orange chicken, but again very tasty), sweet and sour chicken (exactly what we expected, the sauce is the same as the Mandarin chicken sauce, but the chicken is breaded and cooked differently), Mongolian beef, and pork fried rice. The portions were all very large, we ended up with a lot of leftovers to take home for dinner the next day. The staff helped us box everything up, they were very attentive to our needs. Thank you for a good dining experience.

Even though I do love it, as a rule of thumb, I eat very little Oriental cuisine because of the sodium content.<br/>While conducting work in Burley, ID I was referred by a local and rior to my visit to Shon Hing, I diligently scoured the reviews and decided to give it a fair shake on a Thursday evening. No wait!!!! Couldn't even finish my beverage before my to-go order arrived.<br/>I've eaten at many Oriental establishments throughout much of the NW and consider it to be pretty good. I am overly impressed with the seemly lower sodium content than other establishments. The shrimp is large and that was impressive as well. I give Shon Hing a B+

Like It?. Haha. Try LOVE IT! Shon Hing's is definitely my top choice of Asian restaurants in the state! I mean, there are other decent chinese and thai food places, don't get me wrong. But where else can you go where as soon as you walk in the lady knows exactly what you eat, where you sit, and the price of EVERYTHING? I've been eating at Shon Hing's since I was in utero and I know that my kids will be doing the same!
