Simple and delish! The place is cozy and cute but no air conditioning. We sat outside and it was a very pleasant experience. We ordered omelettes and biscuits. Everything was fresh and tasted homemade. They bake fresh bread and pastries in house. This place only opens till 2 pm.

Breakfast brunch was good, my wife thought that the French toast was undercooked, but my chicken Sandwitch was sensational, don't get the home fries unless you looooove paprika. My son had some coffee rolls a la French toast that he loved, coffee was great and the service cordial.

Here sits the best blueberry scone I have ever had. $3. And Berta the baker has an exquisite technique: the blueberries are layered in the flaky buttery dough to create these delightful stripes. Not too sweet, perfectly moist, fresh. When you don't want your scone to stop.

We really enjoyed our meal. We came here with friends for breakfast and had a great meal, all fresh and home made. The prices are alittle high but it is a great spot for food and excellent service if you like cafes and home made food check them out, but rember cash only.

Great breakfast! They serve Senica a local roasted coffee. Great breakfast! Just a bit too much pepper in the gravy!

DELICIOUS FOOD and DELICIOUS DESSERT! The food is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The fresh lemon water on tap is an added bonus! I also wish they had more food on the menu, but the food they do have is really exceptional, especially for this area. Definitely the best place to have breakfast in Watkins Glen or Corning or Painted Post or Elmira. I would know because I've tried as many diners as I could around her and this is by far the best breakfast. They even put edible flowers in your food!!!! Oh and I had to edit this review because I forgot to mention the SCONES. OUT OF THIS WORLD! The best Scone I've ever eaten.

First time in the Finger Lakes, this place was recommended by a local we met at a coffee shop (Seneca Sunrise, also great place). He was adamant we had to try this local joint, which made everything from scratch. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I had four (!) of their cinnamon rolls during the weekend we were there, they were so good. The lattes complemented them nicely but the real stars of the show is how well they cook their staples and specials alike. I had the breakfast burrito special, 5 out of 5. The next day, we went back again, and the tacos it was! Although a bit small (two of them would have been a perfect portion, I should have asked them!), it was just delicious. They then recommended us a local beach and lake point to bring the kids and let them loose, again, going above and beyond their call of duty. Even in a rush, they were nice, smiling, and laughing with us as our kids were having a blast on their patio outside. Again, a place I am already looking forward to go back to when we are around FLX again!

Awesome breakfast, friendly staff. The breakfast taco, while small (but perfect portion for me) was very tasty. My husband had the Denver omelet and he said it was the best restaurant omelet he's had in a long time. Their grape juice was lovely as well as their citrus water.

I came to Berta’s with a friend on our way to Watkins Glen and was so thrilled to stumble upon this spot! I ordered the Southwestern omelet and my friend the cheesy eggs - we couldn’t stop vocalizing about how absolutely delicious it was. It is a 30 minute drive from where I live, but I will be making the trip again and again because it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had - no exaggeration. Very cozy, quaint interior and the staff are very friendly.

Very cheerful & friendly crew, a nice way to perk up your day, that and the amazing coffee. I had tea and it was served in the cutest teapot set ever. The mushroom omelet I had this morning comes with grilled mushroom and cheese, a good choice if you are not up for any meat. But if you are, the Denver omelet with its bell peppers are lovely. And true to the other reviews, the blueberry scone is really delicious, melt in your mouth buttery goodness. The interior is simple yet quaint, with an old piano at the corner that says play me :)
