If you haven’t been to Burbanks longest operating restaurant then you have been missing out. They have the chili restaurant that dates back to the 1900’s comes from Green Bay. The ultimate chili dog is definitely the best dog I’ve had. The chili spaghetti is rich and hearty, perfect for the cold weather. And the snoop dog chili cheese fries are crack! Make sure you save room for dessert since they have a delicious lemon pie. I wish I lived around the corner from here so I can have this at least twice a month.

Awesome Old School Counter Diner Serving Some Great Chili! We got the variation of a sloppy joe with half and half chili (spicy/mild) and it was great! Can't wait to come back and try more items. Half and half was still pretty spicy so be warned. We also got to take a picture from the Same seat Chris Pine Set at in "I am The Night" which is a fun bonus.

I paid $28 dollars to get 8 ounces of oil in a quart of chili today. I used to like this chili, but what are you guys doing? I was not crazy enough about it to eat a cup of oil by itself even when it was good (this has no flavor, I have discovered), especially if it costs significantly less to make it at home with a little preparation. Highly disappointed, the old containers were not prepared with this ratio, why change now?

The taste was good, much better than the last few times I’d tried. I used to be a weekly regular and everything changed several years ago. The order was for pickup. The price was very reasonable. A lunch special with Chili, spaghetti, chips and a Mexican soft drink. I added beans. I picked it up and when I opened it later, there was no spaghetti and no chips. Again, the taste was good, but the order wasn’t accurate.

Chili John’s I have been curious about this place for a long time. It seems to have been here forever and I have passed it a million times. Every time I drove by, I would think to myself “next time”. Yesterday, a friend of mine posted it on his Instagram and it looked great so I figured why not. We entered the wrong door to start with. The bar had a really retro vibe, but no A/C. Then we went into the Taproom (correct door) which is very bare bones. No frills, spartan, but I am not too into decor. There are mixed reviews from both my wife and I. I have to say that we were both confused because we were told that they didn’t have the ingredients for the Broadway or John the Ripper street dog. There wasn’t clarification on what ingredients which lead to us wondering why my wife couldn’t substitute a bacon wrapped dog, moving on. My wife ended up ordering “The Weeny”, which is a plain hot dog with ketchup and mustard. She got it without mustard. But she really wanted a bacon-wrapped dog and they would not allow her to substitute the dog. She also ordered the Chili Cheese Fries with beef chili (not spicy). She felt there was not enough cheese on her fries, and she felt like the chili was a bit too dry for her taste. As for me, I had the build-your-own bowl with spicy beef chili, beans, spaghetti, sour cream and cheese. I also went with an order of spicy beef chili and cheese fries. I really enjoyed the heat from both of my dishes. It was good to be able to order something spicy and actually have it be spicy. I will be back to try the Ultimate Chili dog or John the Ripper. Next time, I might just add a little extra cheese and sour cream.
