Sydney's Restaurant

I've been to several resort restaurants and some are really good and some, are just trying to pretend. Sidney's is really good. Let me preface that. Their breakfast buffet, is really good. Their Seafood Buffet on Saturdays is phenomenal! From presentation, to servers to quality. Everything was top notch. If you are staying at Lake Lanier resort and do not try the seafood buffet, you are missing something fantastic

We went to Sidney's tonight for dinner. We ordered a martini and a vodka sour and crab cake appetizer to start. The drinks were great. The crab cakes were very delicious. The complimentary brioche cheese bread was also to die for. I had the chicken with tomatoes and goat cheese with wild sauteed mushrooms, and my partner had the New York strip with asparagus. Both our meals were so good. Jim was our server and he was tremendous. He took great care of us. I sincerely hope Jim is recognized for his outstanding service. We are staying at the resort for my birthday celebration and we would definitely recommend Sidney's. Thank you for a great dinner!!

Just called to make a reservation. They charge you $20 just to come to the resort, they don’t wave that fee if you are eating there. Beyond ridiculous. Canceled our reservation. Edit: the business replied that they do wave the fee, however, an employee in your restaurant (Sydney’s) told me over the phone the fee is NOT waived. Additionally, it turns out the restaurant is only open for dinner one night a week for a buffet.

As GA has gradually reopening from COVID, attended a wine pairing event featuring Orin Swift wines. Food and service was stellar! I highly recommend this restaurant. Food was fabulous. Service was spectacular. Pairings were exeptional. Live music was fantastic...haven't benefitted from a live performance is way too long.

We reserved reservations for Christmas Day Brunch. We were expecting a gourmet delight. What we got was a buffet barely above the level of a swill bar. The wait staff and hotel personnel was stellar. It was the food. Potato salad dry with no binding sauce. Salmon, bagels and cream cheese nothing special. Grits and Valencia Shrimp, not bad. Everything I tried was dried out with no moisture at all. Turkey good but dry. Dessert , bread pudding was like a breakfast bread with no sauce of any kind offered. Chocolate Mousse does not have caramel sauce in the bottom. I only saw brownies for another dessert. Was the Grinch here? Wine was a Generic first glass and second glass asked for was Villa Marie a distinctive Sauvignon Blanc, I would swear was the same wine I had at first serving. You need to know this is the first bad review I have ever left on Trip Advisor, and am embarrassed to do so and I have left hundreds.I will not recommend nor return, so sorry
