Holiday Showcase Restaurant

Don't waste your time or money. The waitress is very nice but..... the food is not worth it. I ordered french toast, eggs, and pancakes. The eggs were burned and unsalted, the French toast has no flavor and was a waste of time, and the pancakes were burned at the edges and doughey in the middle. I could have honestly made a better breakfast at home for myself. I regret having to make this review because I do encourage supporting local establishments but they have to do their part in order for us to do ours.

3 stars might be a stretch. We go only when they have a Groupon type deal and even then its a tossup that it will be worth half price. Most all the reviews here reflect our experience. Food in general is very pedestrian in quality at best, as a rule. Do agree the pot roast is fantastic tho. And I think we've experienced every thing mentioned so far when it comes to staff and especially management. This is NOT a consumer-centric business. They'd just as soon tell you "no" or argue with you and the service is often glacial. But there are notable exceptions. Its very run of the mill and id never pay full price for most things there. The other notable exception is the Roasted Red Pepper soup. Sublime!

We go in thinking that we are going to have an enjoyable lunch. Well we were seated rather quickly, but than we were left there waiting for someone to wait on us for about 15 minutes. Eventually we did get asked what we wanted to drink and by that time we already knew what we wanted to eat. With placing our order we chose a bowl of soup with a country club sandwich. The server asked if we wanted french fries or to replace the soup for our fries and we both chose to replace the soup with our fries. Than i went with rye bread and my fiancee' went with marble bread. At this point we are not told that anything would cost extra. Well when we get our bill, there is an additional charge of $1.68 each for the soup and $.30 for the marble rye bread. When we check out we questioned the additional charge and the manager is called. He stated that they do not tell about the additional charges because customers do not want to hear that?? Than he proceeded to tell us that the menu states that there is a charge for the soup and I asked him to show us and there was nothing in there for that. So apparently as consumers we don't want to be aware of additional charges that we are paying for that we don't know about. As a side note: If we were advised I am sure we would of said that was fine, but to be blindsided and told that we would rather not know as consumers that we are being charged with hidden charges is unethical business practices.

The architecture is unique, and there are some okay servers and half-way decent food. But the management is rigid, and not customer oriented. We had some spoiled ketchup (turned to vinegar-like taste). They offered me new home fries, but I had lost my appetite for them and asked if I could have something else such as a pancake. Not only was I not offered an apology but they stated, "there are absolutely no substitutions." Very poor customer service.

Food was good but nothing spectacular. Tried their famous burger which was good but kind of small and nothing to write home about. Thought the prices were high for the amount of food you actually get. They did have a varied menu with a lot to choose from so I will be back and try some of their other food and update this review accordingly.

Let me start by saying I find reviews invaluable both to consumers and to owners-not to bash but to inform.Empty restaurant Sunday 5pm Xmas time , drinks , apps came out quickly and good Entrees -different story. 1/2 chicken dinner -VERY dry, steamed broccoli was mush with a puddle of water in bowl.Chicken Parmesan- sauce was a watered down jar of Ragu ,chicken edible entire entree was warm at best.Chicken finger salad was fresh and good sized.Didn't really expect much but having said that we were underwhelmed.However after 45 in business you should be able to do BASIC dishes with your eyes closed .Owners really need to look at operations before staff run the business into the ground.Basically go anywhere else and DON'T GO HERE.

Went for breakfast today. I asked if I could get a couple tomato slices instead of toast because I am allergic to wheat, but I was told that the kitchen doesn't allow for substitutions. She ended up sneaking me some slices of tomato anyway but said that it was a one time thing. Great job taking care of people with allergies. Won't be going back there... BTW the food was actually very very good. Shame we won't be back
