My wife and I joined another couple for lunch at Mi Mexico in Wheeling, IL. The weather was perfect, so we ate outside in their attractive, well-maintained garden area. The menu is typical Mexican with a large variety of choices; prices were average for this class of restaurant. The Lunch Specials
We did carry out. Each order was great, med rare beef was tender and tasty, and that overcooked beef was delightful to my friend, (med well), The third of us had chicken. The food was ready when I got there. The staff were nice.

Excellent food even for vegetarians. Their single order of Fajitas was sufficient for 3 normal eaters and we ordered an extra player of rice and beans. Do not forget to ask them about habanero salsa if you are a true spice lover. Their fried ice cream was so - so but was looking super delicious. Ask
GOOD: Good food. Great selection for vegetarians. NOT-SO-GOOD: Wait staff mostly stood around in a big circle chatting with each other, only coming to our table (sometimes with a frown on their face) when called over. Not the most pleasant customer servic!.
The colorful Mexican decor boosts your spirit as soon as you are in. Food is good . Tried the tamale, fajitas and flan. All tasted good and authentic.

Went after work with some coworkers. We had the queso fundido for an appetizer. I was stuffed from chips and salsa and the queso fundido so I just got a steak quesadilla. Food was a little pricey but the quality is there.
Had dinner here with a friend, son and wife had chimichanga's and I had fluatas. All the food was good. I have been to better Mexican restaurants but I have been to many more that were not as good. I would return again. Their bar has a great selection of premium tequila's as well.
