La Bagel Delight

The staff cannot handle the volume of customers. Even though the volume is nothing compared to the other location, I had to repeat my order a few times and still got my order wrong. They seem to me nice but the workflow is awful. I wish them the best. Maybe a new way of managing orders, etc. would make things better.

It is not about the bagels but about the service. Was at the shop yesterday. 2 counter people stood at attention so far from the counter so that I had to basically shout my order. As I asked to have the coffee while waited for the order , they had both already turned on their heels and did not respond to my request. No problem. I asked this lady who stands by the cashier for a coffee , she looks like a prison matron if I ever saw one btw...she looks at me and kept doing whatever she was doing. No problem. Paid for my order, didn’t get a receipt. When I get home I see they added cheese to my bacon and egg sandwich when I didn’t ask for it . Called the store spoke with manager about all of the above. He simply said ‘we are trying very hard.’ I say We all are. I wonder if After being rude to my costumers and screwing up my work , If I could just say : ‘ I am trying very hard.’ And not lose my job.I don’t think so... It is sad that many business in park slope don’t train their workers with a ‘service with a smile’ attitude ‘ Has anyone else noticed this in north park slope?

La Bagel has a large menu, even if it might be better to just stick with the classics. The bagels are fine - really not the greatest or in the same realm of the greatest in New York. Also last time I was there a cockroach definitely landed on my friend before scurrying under a machine. Basically everyone acted like this was a relatively normal thing to experience while waiting for food. Is this normal? Not cool where I’m from but you New Yorkers put up with a lot so who knows.
