Solid cheese shop that also features some pretty tasty sandwiches. Ordered the Rosemary Ham & Cheddar to go with extra mustard and it was indeed a fantastic choice. Quality ingredients, just wish they hadn’t run out of the ciabatta!
I’m afraid to advertise their truffle cheese spread bc I want to be available every time I go! If everyone knows how delicious it is, it will always be sold out! Go without saying that all of their bread, cheese selections and products are super yummy! Great gift for foodies like me as well!
Eastern District is a staple establishment of the neighborhood. The sandwiches are old school standards with quality ingredients. I had the pleasure of being served today by Julian. A great guy with great hair who slings a great sandwich.

I had a large catering order (about 20-30 people) for 3 Saturday's in a row. Eastern District made the process of arranging this catering so easy and left me with nothing to worry about! Their owner was super accommodating and willing to work with some specific requests we had about packaging the order (not to mention working with allergies, but we happened to have none). We ordered an assortment of their sandwiches and everyone found them delicious. I personally tried all of their vegetarian sandwich options and each was so tasty! I will definitely stop by here again when I'm next in the neighborhood.
As an Italian, I am very picky in my food shopping. Eastern District has solved the problem I had with finding good quality cheese that exceeds my expectations. The staff is nice and kind. Young and prepared. They are helpful and lively. Honestly I can't recommend this place enough. Truly my favorite shop in the neighbourhood! 10 Stars!
I ordered a gift box from this shop for a friend in New York all the way from Australia. Such lovely products to choose from and a user friendly website. Despite the time difference, the customer service over email was helpful and so friendly. The box itself was great value and full of delicious cheese and other items my friend loved. Highly recommend! Look forward to getting there one day in person.
Great sandwiches! Ordered the turkey sandwich and it was delicious. Excited to try the others. One thing to note, however, is that the price in store appears cheaper than the ordering app by about $2. Wish I would have known that before ordering for pickup because although it’s right around the corner from my place, I used the 3rd party ordering app bc the website directed me and seemed safer for contactless ordering.
My wife and I got married at the Box House Hotel around the corner from Eastern District - we needed a good catering option for bride and groom suites on the day-of. To say Eastern District was a good choice is a massive understatement: they were absolutely astounding. Sami was incredibly responsive and helpful, she made the entire process easy and seamless - she asked a few questions, we gave a few parameters, and she took care of the rest. The boards were amazing - the sandwiches, cheese, pickles, fruits, charcuterie, jams, honeys, literally everything was delicious. The presentation was stunning. All special requests were taken care of, the boards were delivered exactly on time, and the bridal/groom parties were thrilled with the variety of options. I would absolutely order from them again, no hesitation.
Great cheese, bread, and beer, very friendly and helpful staff. However, this place could use a better meat slicer for their high quality meats. I bought some really nice prosciutto, and the slices were not uniform and too thick.
