Piece Of Velvet

It's a given that this is my favorite red velvet cake spot, been going there since way waaaay back when it was under different ownership. I always joke that my second child is so sweet because this red velvet was all I craved during that pregnancy! The people who took over have done the red velvet legacy justice, so you always know it's going to taste amazing. They've also really stepped up their decorating game! It used to be that when you ordered a whole cake, you'd get a delicious cake, but it wouldn't be the prettiest. That's not the case anymore! I ordered a red velvet for a baby shower tomorrow and I asked them if they could make the outside ombre pink to white, covered in roses...man, they nailed it! Not only is it gorgeous, they even dusted it with the most beautiful edible glitter! It's stunning and even better than I expected! (I did also order a dozen mini red velvet cupcakes, that somehow didn't show up, but the important part was the cake and it's so lovely I can't even be upset. The lady at the counter was super apologetic, refunded the cost of the cupcakes, and threw in some free regular cupcakes, so all is more than forgiven.) I love love love their red velvet and this cake is definitely going to be a show stopper tomorrow! Thank you, Piece of Velvet! ❤

This establishment was previously owned by the famous "Cake Man Raven". Although he produced a good product, the service was absolutely horrible. Often, they would run out of cake (ridiculous!) or have people standing on line waiting for cake. Many people discontinued patronizing his business because it was so lacking in basic service. Currently, a group of ambitious young men have set up shop in the same location, and taken the business to new heights. They now always have cake...and lots of it! There are a variety to choose from, as well as the famous Red Velvet Cake (it's basically the same recipe, as these guys previously worked for Raven). No more lines. No more waiting for cake. The place is clean and well lit and a compliment to the area. I recommend A Piece of Heaven.

I dont normally write reviews but I think it would b a shame if I didnt in this case. I just ordered a 12" Vanilla/Red Velvet cake for my friends birthday. The cake was ready on time and the service was great. And best of all... The best red velvet cake I have ever had! The cake was moist and delicious and the frosting was amazing. Great experience. I will definitely be ordering more cakes from them.

Omg so it's my sister's birthday and her favorite cake is red velvet so I was on a Hunt for the best one in Brooklyn. And after Google and Facebook searches I found this location! The staff was friendly and helpful! I purchased a personal size Oreo red velvet cake and I regretted it... BECAUSE I DIDN'T BUY LARGER! I must say I love red velvet but this cake was by far the best one I ever had! We all agree I should have bought a LARGER size! Tomorrow I'm going to get it because my mom didn't get a chance to enjoy it! I highly recommend this place!

I came here in to pick up some sweet treats for Lapin and I. I purchased two dozen assorted mini cupcakes. I thought from the menu you would be able to choose but instead it was already prepackaged. In one dozen, they were all the same flavors, which disappointed me a bit. The guys behind the counter were really nice and did offer free samples even though I had already bought something. The cupcakes were moist and delicious -- and very hard to eat just one!

My mom and I stopped here to check out there selection of cakes and cupcakes. I thought this was still "cake man raven's" establishment but learned it wasnt. The young man behind the counter explained he and some friends took over the business and reopened the shop.There's a nice selecton of flavored cakes to choose from. I asked for a sample and the young man asked which one I would like to try and I smiled because I was shocked he was going to allow me to try one. I kind of wish I did have some samples to try because I ordered the caramel velvet that looked scrumptious but just didnt tickle my fancy. However, I will definitely return to taste some other sweet treats.
